The show has great potential to be a hit. We have so few comedies on television today. It's nice and refreshing to see them on network television. Wendy McLendon-Covey is perfect in her role as the head director at St. Denis Medical Center in Oregon. Alison Tolman is effecetive as a nurse supervisor who has a family. Her character seems to be overly involved and so dedicated that she has trouble leaving to see her daughter perform in her school's Mamma Mia. David Alan Grier is fine here as a long term veteran doctor. There are some familiar faces here. I did enjoy the first two episodes and hope to see the rest.
Don't give up in the show. It's the best sitcom on NBC right now and that's not saying much. I would rather have more sitcoms than crime dramas.

Just watched the first two episodes, and it's sort of average or maybe a bit above. The comedy didn't really work at first-it felt like the characters were cracking jokes just to entertain each other, not the audience. But eventually, a few jokes did hit. Both episodes have a nice message about helping others and keeping that work-life balance. I liked Allison from Why Women Kill Season 2 and Kaliko from Superstore, and they're both good here too. And it's nice that Matt and Serena will be taking care of the romantic tension business in the coming episodes. So far, they and Alex are the ones I like. Overall, it's a decent, light-hearted comedy show. Although not excited, I'll probably watch the upcoming episodes, hoping it improves. 2.75/5.

First of all, THANK YOU for creating this show! I recorded this show hoping for a win. This show is the Mega Million Lottery winner! Life itself right now is drama... currenty, reality is sad, depressing, and bleak. I'm a teacher & my kids live daily with circumstances that would crush a normal adult. Each day I vow to keep doing the right thing and keep hope alive. This TV show offers me "mind candy". More than entertainment, St Denis Medical makes me laugh. The kind of laughter that is healing. An opportunity for my spirits getting renewed, revived, and restored. NBC, I'm using my teacher voice here and I'm giving you my best teacher stare. Keep St. Denis Medical on the air. Do not make me write a note to your Mom.

I turned this on because I was such a fan of Superstore. It is definitely a different tone than Superstore, but this show is clearly going for something more meaningful. It's cute, it's funny, it's about caring, and it's about community.
I think that it could qualify as a "Feel Good Comedy." It depicts relatable people as they struggle through the challenges of health care and caring for people that need help.
I have several family members who work in health care, and everything that I saw tracks with what I have seen so far in the show.
There are some new actors that I don't recognize, but there are some that I love (any cast from Superstore) seeing in new roles.

With everything going on right now, this is a fantastic distraction. It's a nice break from the madness in the world currently.
Thinking about people who serve other people and the funny instances that occur within that circle is a great break from current issues.
Also, I'm so happy to see Wendy in another sitcom, she's got amazing timing and talent.
The chemistry between the actors is awesome. I'm pretty confident this can run for multiple seasons due to how relevant the subjects discussed are.
I'm really happy another sitcom was made that is not just a remake. It does have Scrubs vibes but only in the sense that it's good like Scrubs. It's a totally different POV and very relevant. You all have done a good job and should be proud.
Thanks for getting new stuff out there.
If you think about it, comedy is kind of medical relief due to the stress relief provided. Keep up the good work.

Watched both the eps (pilot and the second one) and I am shocked. How are people giving it 10 stars is beyond me. Seinfeld, The good place, The office, Parks and rec, we have had so many successes, how is Hollywood so off the mark in comedy for the past few years??
St. Denis Medical tries to emulate the charm of mockumentary classics like "The Office" and "Parks and Recreation," but falls short in a big way. The pilot episode is a chaotic mess, with forced humor and over-the-top characters that lack depth. The show struggles to find its footing, relying heavily on clichés and predictable storylines. The ensemble cast, despite their talent, can't save the show from its uninspired writing and lack of originality. Overall, it feels like a missed opportunity, failing to deliver the laughs and heart that its predecessors did. Nobody stood out for me as such. No cohesive storyline or trail to follow here. It could have been left as a skit at comedy central. You would be better off watching re-runs of better shows.

The office in a medical center, what do you need more. As a doctor, a lot of these interactions and jokes are very recognisable from the daily work.
A good show to relax after a long day, well filmed, good actors. Interested to see where they will be taking the characters and the storyline.
Yes, the characters are gross generalisations from each discipline but there is some truth in it which makes it more funny.
Lighten up all healthcare workers who are leaving bad reviews, this doesn't put us in a bad light. Relax and laugh with yourself and your (sometimes annoying) collegues, it's just a joke!

After suffering through those aggressively unfunny trailers, I was concerned this one might turn out to be the worst situation comedy of the decade. My fears were misaligned: it's truly much worse than I'd been led to believe.
From the stale jokes and pedestrian plot lines to the overall concept of the show, I was wrestling with why watching this mess had left me nearly speechless. Then it dawned on me: this is the worst TV show since Jerry O'Connell's notorious "sitcom" Do Not Disturb (DND). Like DND, St. Denis takes real talents like Alison Tolman and David Alan Grier and squanders their efforts.

After just two episodes, St. Denis Medical has already won me over. The mockumentary format really brings the characters to life, and as a fan of the genre, I'm thrilled to see how each character is given their moment to shine. Each personality feels distinctive and well-rounded, which is essential in a show like this where comedy comes not just from situations but from the unique quirks and reactions of each character.
I was especially drawn to Allison Tolman's performance. Having admired her work in Fargo, where she delivered an unforgettable role, it's exciting to see her bring a fresh take to a comedic character in St. Denis Medical. Her blend of subtle humor and authenticity is spot on.
As for my favorite characters, Ron, Matt, and Bruce stand out for their personalities and interactions. I'm really excited to see how their arcs will develop in upcoming episodes. If the show continues at this pace, I hope we get many more seasons to explore these characters and their stories.
Overall, St. Denis Medical feels like a perfect balance of humor and heart, and I can't wait to see what's next!

I really enjoyed the first two episodes on peacock. I actually watched them twice in a row. I'm a huge office fan and so far I hadn't seen any kind of comedy to compare. I'm not saying this is the next office, but I'm saying, this show has the potential to be great.
I found each episode to be funny, purposefully stupid at times and also touching and heartfelt. It has all the ingredients to a masterpiece that made the office so well done. If this show is even half as good as the us version of the office, I will be sure to watch every episode with anticipation. Again, I was not let down with the 1st two episodes.

Two episodes in, St. Denis Medical already feels like it's on the path to becoming one of the all-time greats, much like The Office. While the latter took its time to find its groove, we all know the heights it reached, and St. Denis Medical carries that same potential.
What stands out is how it mirrors the workplace humor and absurdity of The Office, but in a fresh, quirky medical setting. The characters, although still unfolding, hint at a dynamic chemistry that could become iconic. The humor feels sharp, relatable, and laden with just the right amount of awkwardness-a hallmark of great workplace comedies.
If you're a fan of shows that build a strong ensemble cast and weave comedy through everyday chaos, this is the series to watch. It's shaping up to be a unique yet familiar addition to the genre, and I, for one, am excited to see where it goes!
St. Denis Medical might just be the prescription for laughter we all need.

Fifteen minutes into this I had to ask the people I was watching this with if this was a comedy or not. I had not heard a single person laugh that was in the room. I really truly didn't get it. It was so boring that after 15 minutes I ask if anybody was interested in watching anymore, and everyone said no. I was so looking forward to this, I love many of the actors in it. I don't understand how they would stoop so low to take a part in this snorefest. My love of some of the actors is the only reason I gave it a number two if it weren't for that it would be getting a negative rating! One good thing, if you have insomnia, it will be a good choice and treatment.

*St. Denis Medical* plays like a tongue-in-cheek roast of hospital dramas, taking on the genre's endless parade of personal crises that rarely leave room for actual medicine. Rather than saving lives with stoic resolve, the doctors and nurses here are tangled in their own quirks and foibles: a head doctor terrified of needles, a new nurse bumbling his way through basic tasks, and an administrator more focused on boosting the hospital's reputation than fixing its dysfunction. Unlike *Grey's Anatomy*, where every love affair is treated as a life-or-death scenario, *St. Denis Medical* winks at the audience, pointing out how ridiculous it would be if real hospitals ran on the same level of personal drama. The show subtly mocks the genre's formulaic conventions, making it clear that a world this messy is far from the heroics-filled hospitals that medical dramas have sold us for years.
What makes *St. Denis Medical* refreshing, though, is that it doesn't shy away from showing just how flawed the healthcare system-and by extension, the people running it-really are. It hints at genuine issues like underfunding and overworked staff, but opts to show these truths through the lens of absurdity rather than earnest social commentary. The satire might be soft, but there's a pointedness in the way it tackles certain archetypes: the aloof, "House"-inspired diagnostician who ironically fears the sight of blood, or the overzealous administrator who believes a pep rally will fix morale in a crumbling ER. These jabs may be gentle, but they still get their mark across, highlighting just how absurd it is that so many real-life crises end up buried beneath the genre's melodramatic formula. By not being afraid to laugh at itself, *St. Denis Medical* stands as a self-aware takedown of TV's longstanding obsession with medical heroics.

I'm 12 minutes into the first episode and already fell in love with the show. The casting is amazing. We need more shows like this in the world of psycho-thriller-drama-horror etc. Shows. "The Office" style of filming combined with the medical setting really works for me and I think it has a lot of space for growth as an emergency room and hospitals in general are always filled with dynamics and doctors and nurses often have to deal with shenanigans throughout their day. Kind of hard for me to see the famous actors in their new characters yet. Hopefully it doesn't get cancelled after season one.

I had hopes that this show would be as funny as Scrubs. Alas, it depicts a group of people who for the most part should be no where near a hospital, and especially not providing medical care for patients. Instead they look like the type of underqualified morons, imbeciles, and idiots who might be appointed to those positions by the new Trump administration. The documentary style of the show is potentially good, but does not come near the quality of similar efforts such as What We Do in The Shadows, or The Office. I watched the first episode without a single chuckle, but saw several cringe moments as health care workers are depicted as dangerously incompetent. I stopped watching five minutes into episode two.

I'm a sucker for these type of light hearted sitcoms, please keep going. The environment for healthcare comedy is needed!!! All of us in healthcare see tragedy and drama often, I want to make jokes and see love stories and laugh about how accurate some of these character roles are (corporate healthcare lady, new grad, docs, etc). Not really into the grays and drama shows pls. Love me the office and superstore style shows, perfect uplifting watch after work. Keep going!
Don't need the haters, just want the coziness of sitcoms to stay alive a while longer okay? Some of us millennials need it pls.

I loved the first two episodes of this show that were aired so far. Shows a lot of promise. The style the show is produced reminds me of The Office. Shot like as if it's some kind of a documentary. It was light and fujust
The series is scheduled for an 18 episode 1st season. And will also be aired on BBC in addition to NBC and peacock.
Among all the new comedies that NBC has released recently, this seems to be one of the best. Extended family was kind of funny but appears like it has been canceled and they won't be a second season. Lopez vs Lopez in my opinion should have been canceled a long time ago. Somehow they have managed to keep that boat floating. In comparison to these, St Denis Medical so far has been hilarious. I hope, the rest of the season is as good as these first two episodes. This might just be another show that might have more than just one or two seasons. I'm thinking maybe 10.. fingers crossed!!!

A couple of chuckles.
What it lacks in creativity and humor it more than makes up for with smash cuts and camera movements. If you write better you could move the camera less.
DAG is solid and this is a great role for him. The character is already showing depth and that's encouraging. For this reason and this reason alone I will stick with it for a few episodes and see what happens.
Spitzer is capable of doing excellent television and I hope this show starts to take shape. Sometimes it takes a little time to hit a stride and I'm willing to wait for it because his reputation has earned it. Fingers crossed.

One of the things you can depend on in the world of television is that, if a particular show succeeds, there will be multiple attempts to copy it in the hope that it's the formula that makes it a success. Unfortunately, formulas don't work by themselves, they need good writing. The mockumentary formula that made The Office, Parks & Recreation, and Abbott Elementary succeed falls flat on its face here thanks to abysmal writing.
When I first saw the cast list, I was looking forward to this show being released. But then I watched a trailer and was left shaking my head.
I love many of the actors in St. Denis Medical, but I can't believe they signed up for this after seeing any of the scripts. Or maybe they didn't read any and it was blind trust on their part. At any rate, they have no chance of saving this mess thanks to the clunky writing and ham-fisted directing. The fact that some viewers like this disaster is actually scary.

Struggled through the first episode thinking it would get better,,, NOPE.. Watched 2nd episode hoping to give this ridiculous show a chance. NOPE .. Had to turn it off, I have almost given up on the people making these shows.. The comedy is so lame as if the writers think viewers have no brain. This is a DOPE show.. By that I mean.. If your flying high you might like it. But if you have an educated brain this show will fall flat in the gutter. It has no substance,,, It is full of useless banter... no real context... there is no comedy here,, just a bunch of stupidity being thrown around in each scene. Congrats for making a mockery out of the health care workers!!!!

I turned it off halfway through the second episode.
The casting is good, and the concept of the voiceover narration by the characters is fun, but I have two major complaints.
1: That the through line that the characters are generally more focused on their personal lives than their patients is insulting to actual hospital workers, who get far more than their share of disrespect in real life.
2: These negative characterizations are also unfair to the residents of central and eastern Oregon, as well as people who live in rural communities everywhere.
As a viewer, I was shocked by the network's promo for the show--which is debuting as I write this--by prematurely (at least). Alleging that the show is already a hit. In my opinion, it can't be cancelled soon enough.
Second to the residents of eastern Oregon, who are not.

After watching the numerous promos for this series, I was looking forward to watching it. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. It is another one of those fake documentaries which supposedly follows the main characters around with a film crew and cameras. There were some humorous moments in the first two episodes I viewed. Regrettably, Wendi McLendon Covey ruined any enjoyment that I might have had in viewing the series. Her extremely over the top acting style is particularly off putting to my liking. She ruined every scene in which she appeared. This is not the first show that have I stopped watching due to her scene chewing antics.
If they're trying to make it look like a documentary crew is following them, they're shooting it all wrong. They really need to use people who shoot docu follow shows. The camera angles, pans and cuts are all wrong and really really bad. The concept is good...The Office in a hospital with a less funny cast and writing. I'm sure it will continue to grow into something funnier when the cast jells and the writers really get the characters and the set up. They really should bring in reality show producers too to get the proper story beats. The Office understood how to do OTFs and other reality show tricks. This show does not.

Can we have just one show that does not have an agenda to ridicule religion? Can't you just be funny? The cross gag was STUPID. This show started with Office-level potential...I'm so disappointed. I don't understand why there aren't more talented writers today...it doesn't seem that difficult. Also, why the heck do these reviews have to be so long?
