Even before I watched the film I was hearing from all sides how bad the film was and now that I've seen it I have to admit that I only partially agree with these statements.
Till Schweiger is an actor and director who is despised by the masses and in this film, as in other films, he has both roles at the same time. Personally, I find many of his films entertaining and that's the main thing you watch a film for. Now, however, hatred of his films has long been mainstream and it surprised people Not me that there are so many bad reviews. I'm not a big Till Schweiger fan, but I don't think it's fair that the majority always pick at him like that. The film is on the level of an average German film, this is not particularly high, but it is entertaining and that is the decisive factor. The film has many guest appearances, German "celebrities". Humor is a matter of taste, it often amuses me. The first part is cult and this sequel was accordingly an interesting idea. The film advertises that the nation has been waiting all these years for the second part, but I doubt that. Current topics are taken up in the story and a lot is played with the cult factor, which I often find to be unimaginative, even apart from this film. The film is updated a bit trying to bring in "the youth" which is solid. The acting performance is standard and nothing special, which I didn't expect differently here. Funny movie, acting is pretty standard to mediocre, solid story. Overall it is better than many have described. If you know what you're getting into, which is an entertaining sequel, then this is an excellent film purely for entertainment. Of course, there is still room for improvement in terms of implementation, but I am very satisfied with the result and suggest that you get your own picture of it and assess afterwards whether it was worth taking this product from Till Schweiger. I enjoyed it and the film gets a possible 6/10 from me for doing what it needs to do...entertaining!

The first Manta movie was a must-see back in its day. The car tuning scene was in full swing, street racing was more present in entertainment, and D&W were in their hey days. Bochum/B1 was the place to be as a car guy back then.
This movie isn't nearly as iconic or relevant as the first one. And it's not trying to be.
It's good to see the actors from the original movie, but their dialogues, characters and overall plot development are just not up to modern standards. This movie could have been so much more, with a stronger focus on the modern cat culture, with a different brand engagement strategy.
Too bad nobody cared enough to realize all of it.
Coincidentally, the Ruhrpott also went downhill along with the local cult icons of former times.

Was a big fan of the first movie back in the days. But this movie destroys the whole charm of the first one. Really: every actor play like it was their first movie without acting classes, casted directly from street. Dialogs are very bad and sound very memorized without emotions. Sorry about that, could have been more.
Plot is dumb and very constructed. They should have left out the dialogs between Till and his daughter, because they are full of cliche and come over very unnatural.
Would have given 1 point, but soundtrack fixes a lot for me. The only point that gets the vibe from the first movie.

Of course this is a box office hit in Germany. Til Schweiger delivers what his fans want to see from him. A fart joke comedy with little to no story, no buildup, no grown, underdeveloped character strings and basically what German movie fans love to see. Great actors in underwhelming roles who don't get a chance to deliver any depth at all.
It's a cute story, some wise words get dropped occasionally, and I'm sure everyone will get at least 2 good laughs in, even women, considering how overly sexist and offensive some of the jokes are. I truly wish they'd have had at least one "aware", "cultural" or just "not ancient" person in this 7 men team of writers.

This is the first movie i couldn't finish and had to went out of the teather. While the first part had it's charme and the handwriting of a solid director in bernd eichinger, this is a total mess. I don't even know where to beginn with, it is just pure shame. It bugs me that i have to give at least 1 star for this pile of trash it isn't even worth a quater of a star.
Today news broke out that til schweiger the director and main actor was mainly drunk while filming and treathened the staff and even became violent. This just fits the whole picture. What a mess. The worst movie i ever say in my life by far.
