    Love this show

The first episode didn't really catch me, but when I got into the second one, it got completely hooked.

I'm sitting here week after week, impatiently waiting for another episode.

It's a great show, funny, entertaining and even emotional as it brings light to the struggle of balancing work life and family.

The script is very well written, and keeps you entertained and hooked through the show, only to want more. The actors are doing an amazing job, and it's great to see so many of our already known Danish actors.

All in all I gave it 10/10 as I really can't think of any negative about the show.

Main draw is celebrity cameos I guess.

If you are unfamiliar with danish celebrities, a lot of the jokes will be lost on you. In every episode there is supposed to be a funny cameo that I rarely think is that good.

We are supposed to laugh at the idea that Thomas Blachman is some mafia boss, that Sidse Babett is bipolar and that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has hired a personal bard. These sorts of jokes usually falls flat, perhaps because of the delivery but it's also really hard to buy any of it. Danish celebrity-life is not nearly as crazy as what we hear from the states. Look at any danish tabloid and the most crazy thing you'll learn is usually that some actor bought a new house.

The celebrity camoes aren't great but even worse is the recurring characters.

Our main character Joe, is a charismatic man who tends to party a lot with his associates. We are supposed to think that he takes his job too seriously, sometimes being more of a marriage counsellor, a babysitter or a psychologist to his clients. The man also tries to connect with his daughter, but his ex-wife is reluctant to let them spend too much time together, with drugs and wild parties being a regular occurance in Joe's appartment.

A major problem is that Joe is the only recurring character that is allowed to at least have a bit of depth. There are three other characters we see in every episode, his mother who is also his boss that is serious and thinks Joe needs to get his act together. His ex-wife who seems to have full custody over their daughter and who seems to think Joe needs to get his act together. Finally we have Joe's daughter who seems to like him, but she is at least on some level aware that Joe really needs to get his act together. Notice a pattern here?

I know that it's common in danish fiction that the woman fills the serious role that yells at her silly husband, but isn't it about time to try something new? It was a similar dynamic in Klovn, with wives yelling at their stupid and disgusting husbands and that show is from 2005.

The worst character is probably Joe's mother because she yells at him in every episode and she has good reason to be mad at Joe - he is a liar and have borrowed millions in what I assume is the company name, behind her back. Joe is clearly not a person you should hire anywhere, so you ask yourself why he has been allowed to work in his mother's agency for what seems to be most of his adult life. The show also seems to forget that you can make the straight-man funny. Here we have one male lead we are supposed to laugh at, and three female characters that are all serious obstacles that Joe needs manage, somehow.

I give the show three stars because the acting and scenography is okay and while the celebrity-cameos aren't saving the show, I at least think Sidse Babett made an entertaining performance so you can at least check it out if your favorite celebrity makes a cameo. Just don't expect anything great.

Do not trust the low score

Good TV comedies are few and far between in Denmark. This show has plenty of genuine laughs, good acting and fun cameo appearances. The humor ranges from subtle to slapstick, but it is not cringeworthy as many Danish comedies tend to be.

If you know Danish celebrities, you will see plenty of them pop up as themselves in both small and larger parts. They are often hilariously unlikeable, obnoxious or self-centered. Especially Sidste Babett Knudsen, who international viewers may know from Brogen or Westworld.

I am surprised that the show has received such a low score here. I wonder what people dislike so vehemently as no one has written a negative review yet. I hope to see another season.

    Great acting and super funny

Being a huge fan of both Esben Smed and Nikolaj Lie Kaas, I have seriously been waiting for "Agent" to hit the TV screens, and I am not disappointed. The first 2 episodes is both well played, beautiful and funny directed by Kaas, and Smed is hilarious as the charming but constantly lying kendis-agent "Joe". The first 2 episodes are full of funny scenes and words, like "Facial", which I hope every Dane knows the meaning of 😁 Kaas serves everything with great humor and timing, and I can't remember the last time I have laughed so hard from a Danish TV production... well, maybe that was actually when I watched "Sover Dolly på ryggen". "Agent" is an uplifting, funny and well played series, staring some of the best Danish actors. I can't wait for episode 3 😁 Well done Nikolaj!!!

    Hilarious Danish Comedy series

I first heard about this Danish comedy series in late 2022/early 2023 I think. Read a few articles and found out that one of my favorite actors Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and his wife Nukâka would be in one of the episodes.

After watching the trailer, I really wanted to see it but sadly Swedish TV didn't buy the series, so I had to wait until it was released on dvd. Last Friday I finally got my 'Agent' dvd in the mail and I watched the entire series during the weekend and it was so GOOD!!! Brilliant written, perfectly casted, and fantastic directed. Everyone involved in the making of this amazing series should be so proud. If you get a chance to watch it, do so ASAP!!!

NCW & Nukâka's scene in the first episode is so funny! They honestly need to do more comedy. I'm very thankful that Nikolaj Lie Kaas came up with this story and gave us this comedian gem. Just thinking about the scene makes me laugh!

Even if my main reason for wanting to watch the series were NCW and Nukâka, I really enjoyed every episode and it did not disappoint me once! Poor Joe, played amazingly by Esben Smed finds himself in various situations because he desperately needs to fix the mess, he's mostly created himself. I absolutely loved Selma Sol í Dale Papi as Joe's daughter Talulah in every scene she's in! It was also so much fun watching all of the Danish celebs play themselves in situations I never would have thought they be part of.

This series is hilarious but also have a more serious tone in it as well. I didn't want it to end, that's how good I think it is. That ending hopefully means we're getting a season 2 of this well-made Danish comedy series. I definitely would like to see more of it!

I hope you'll give this series a chance because I think you'd love it as much as I do. If you're an non-Scandinavian, you might not know who all of the Danish celebs are but it could be a nice opportunity to get some new favorites.
