Screen siren Tawny Kitaen returns to our screens on the hunt for a killer in After Midnight, the latest film from renowned filmmaker Fred Olen Ray (the man behind one of my favourite horror B-movies, Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers). When an exotic dancer is murdered at a seedy strip club, her sister Constance (Catherine Annette – Silent But Deadly), a TV newscaster, goes undercover to find the killer. While working at the club, she quickly realizes that everyone is a suspect and that other dancers are being targeted. She must work fast to find the killer to seek her revenge before she becomes the next target.

After Midnight debuts via VOD on October 28th from Phase 4 Films, in anticipation of it’s release we chatted to star Catherine Annette about her role and working with Fred Olen Ray and Tawny Kitaen…

Horror comedy Smothered is written and directed by actor turned director John Schneider. Yes, you did read that correctly… Actor John Schneider, who many will know from family-friendly productions and his roles as Bo Duke on Dukes of Hazzard and more recently Jonathan Kent, aka Superman’s dad, on Smallville, has turned his hand to writing and directing in more recent years but who knew he had a penchant for penning horror? Admittedly he has had roles in low-budget monster movies such as Super Shark, Snow Beast and Lake Placid 2 but I had no idea he was such a horror fan – he certainly has to be to create such a love letter to the horror community as Smothered.

There aren’t really any rules when it comes to celebrating Labor Day. Some people like to enjoy their last days of summer with a beach trip, and others like to use their Monday off to never change out of their pajamas. We’re not here to judge. But what we are here to do is give you your all-day TV marathon options, just in case you like to celebrate in front of the TV.

We’ve rounded up the marathons that will keep you busy from morning till night (none of this five-episodes-and-done stuff):

Labor Day weekend is here for 2013 and if you don't have any plans, there are plenty of great shows to check out over the weekend. You can catch up on "Continuum" Season 2 on Syfy, or watch the first three episodes of "The White Queen" on Starz. Sunday, Sept. 1 there's a killer Alfred Hitchcock movie marathon running all day on TCM.

Also, it's college football kick-off weekend, so settle in Saturday for the guys' returning to the gridiron.

The seemingly endless wait for the Syfy summer schedule is finally over! There is good news and bad, and one thing that is both good and bad. Let’s start with that: the Eureka Season Finale. Right after Comic-Con, which is early this year. We’ll see if that means a panel or not.

Are you ready for a giant shark that can walk on land? Are you ready to see a giant shark walk on land? Then you’re ready for Super Shark? If you’re not, you better get ready because this whale of a killer that makes Jaws look like Flipper is surfacing on DVD in early February.

An offshore drilling accident triggers the release of a giant prehistoric shark. When marine biologist Kat Carmichael (Sarah Lieving) arrives, she runs up against corporate frontman Roger Wade (John Schneider, The Dukes Of Hazard, Smallville, Desperate Housewives), who plots with Stewart (Jerry Lacy, Dark Shadows) to disrupt her investigation.

With the help of Skipper Chuck (Tim Abell, Soldier of Fortune, Inc.) and disc jockey Dynamite Stevens (Jimmie "J.J." Walker, Good Times), Kat tries to find a way to defeat the monster, which has evolved to a state where it can walk on dry land and fly.

When last we reported on Fred Olen Ray’s newest foray into CGI-free creature featuredom, it was titled Dire Wolf. The distributors must not have liked the word “dire” because the title is now Dino Wolf. Hey, that “dino” suffix sure has done b-movie wonders for crocs and sharks so why not a mammal for a change?

Maxwell Caulfield (Empire Records) and TV’s “Buck Rogers” Gil Gerard star in this bloodbath from the venerable b-moviemaker responsible for such cult favorites as Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers and Evil Toons/ about scientists regenerating a dire wolf from a nearly fossilized skeleton using human stem cells that results in the spawning of a human-dire wolf monstrosity that breaks loose and terrorizes the small nearby mountain village of Santa Mira Springs.

Ask yourself, what can they come up with after Tiffany, Debbie Gibson and Urkel. Well, we have the answer for you and it doesn't concern my own creature Crocaloctopus (yet). Just when The Asylum though they had the market cornered on movies featuring mega-sized sharks, here comes Fred Olen Ray's Super Shark to up the ante with a giant land-walking shark that does battle with a walking Sherman tank mech.

Well, well, well. It looks like it’s not only big screen monster movies that are getting the sequel treatment, as The Asylum announce they are to produce a sequel to their hit film Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus.

The name of the film? Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus. The cast? Well that includes Gary Stretch (who stars in Nazi Dawn – out on DVD next week in the UK), Sarah Lieving (who also appears in Super Shark). Star Trek Voyager’s Robert Picardo and, wait for it… Jaleel White, aka Urkel from 90’s Us sitcom Family Matters!
