Verdict
I grew up with first person shooters, but by that I mean Doom, Wolfenstein, Hexen, Rise of the Triad and more. When the multi-player generation kicked in I was rarely impressed, Medal of Honor? No thanks. Call of Duty? Meh. Online CoD bored me whereas Battlefield I got a level of enjoyment from. I could never understand why anybody would choose CoD over Battlefield.
Battlefield had bigger environments, more players in battles, vehicles (Ground, water and air) it was just superior in every way to me.
When Battlefield 2042 came out I remember hearing wall to wall complaints, people hated it so when I went in I assumed the worst. The thing is the complaints were never really specific, they were just claims they didn't like the game but rarely an explanation of why. Yes it had bugs, but what AAA games doesn't shortly after release? The trouble is it's over two years later and there are still bugs present, mostly frustrating graphical ones.
The game itself is solid enough, though a bit all over the place as it's set across multiple time periods and tries to be a bit too grandiose for its own good. WW2 battles? Sure. Modern battles? Sure. Futuristic battles? Sure. It makes loadouts a pain in the butt and I didn't like that it was so all over the place.
Everything else however is fine, the mechanics are solid, the locations are varied, every box is ticked so why the hatred?
It's not the best Battlefield game, but it's a decent enough entry.
Rants
No seriously, why do people choose CoD over Battlefield? I believe it's changed recently but prior the environments were tiny by comparison. You couldn't turn a corner without running into an enemy. No vehicles, fewer players....why!? Battlefield saw you riding a jeep across a sprawling environment, tanks roaring beside you, planes engaged in dogfights above, superior in every conceivable way.
Breakdown
Lots of environments Great logistics Multiple time periods don't work Unforgivable bugs.

The movment awesome graphics are no where near as good as battlefield 1 everything the fans want has gone down the drain which is a shame as its such a beloved franchise from this game that has started a decline hopefully battlefield can return to its roots in its next game for now ill be returning to battlefield 1 which was miles better than this trash of a game.
Ok so every game launch is messy especially this one lots of bugs lots of missing features and lots of hit registration issues the main problem though is it seems kinda lifeless even with the new 128 players the some of the maps are too large the larger maps all the players just do there own thing so here you are traveling alone to the nearest objective i believe that later on it will change a lot i mean they even said that there will be a major update soon I personally want more chaos more explosions more life so thats it dont take the bad reviews into consideration because this games gonna change a lot bf4 was like this at launch only one other review said that so yeah thats my review.
I really tried enjoying bf2042. Went in positive, even after reading all the negative reviews. Sometime after launch I played it for about a week and I just didn't like it at all. I stopped playing for months and recently came back to this game after reading that it was "fixed". Yes the game did become a bit better, but it was still the bf2042 it was just after launch. The maps are just so bland, really open and boring. It's pretty much just a big field or desert with some stuff on it like 3 big buildings or a big boat and for the rest a few small builings or houses with nothing really in between them. Also so few of them. The guns are okay but also not really special... they don't have that satisfying feel to them.
Portal is kinda cool but the fact that you cannot really unlock anything for the weapons is a bummer too. There really isn't anything cool to unlock in general.

EA will hopefully go bankrupt after this. The game is trash don't play it. Imagine making just a multiplayer game and the multiplayer isn't even fun? Stay woke go broke.
