The Naughty List

The Santa connection to The Wildman is a real life theory, though not one widely adopted. There is an actual book entitled Santa, Last of the Wildmen by Philis Seifker that traces Santa's origins to the Wildman of pagan lore, though the validity of the research is questionable. There was also an article published in LA Weekly by an artist named Jeffrey Valance, who made a similar connection after visiting Lapland Sweden and seeing a Wildman statue dressed in bright red with a snowy white beard.
