NCIS:Los Angeles was something I wasn't expecting to like. At first, it was rather rocky, with some sluggishly paced and unoriginal stories, clichés in the writing and characters that didn't come into their shell for a bit. Over time though, while it is not as good as the original series NCIS:Naval Crimimal Investigative Service, it has gotten better.
The series is handsome to look at, and the music is memorable and clever. The writing, pace and stories have gotten better and more interesting, and the characters more absorbing. When it comes to the acting, Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J, two actors that I initially thought "no way is this going to work" are surprisingly good, and casting Linda Hunt I agree as the show's most interesting character to date is a masterstroke.
Overall, far from perfect but over time it has gotten better after a rocky start. 7/10 Bethany Cox

I really love this show but not so much since Mosley has been on board. Mosely's character is irritating & I can't stand the way she talks down to the other characters, especially in the season ending episode where she threatened everyone into compromising themselves for her own purpose & causing the entire team to fight! I've DVR'ed the new season & haven't watched it yet because I love NCIS LA but really don't want to see her character! Gawd I really hope they get rid of her character!! Love Hetty...so go back to what worked & leave her in charge & alone to run things!! Geez! I don't mind the Hidoko character though...IF she's still alive!
Used to love this show, it had more levity than the original even when the stories seemed a bit stale. I understand Linda Hunt cannot due a weekly procedural anymore but would still like to see her a little more often. Gerald McRaney has done a fantastic job filling her shoes so her loss hasn't created too big of a hole. The problem with show now is Roundtree and Namazi they are both bad actors that add very little to the the show. Neither one of the characters has ever been any good. Namazi whines way too much and Roundtree is just blah. Individually and as a team they are ruining the show. I hope the show runners realize this sooner rather than later and get rid of those two and replace them with something watchable.
I watched the crossover (call it the NCIS:LA premiere) last season between the two NCIS casts and really enjoyed it. Chris O'Donnell has grown up and yet, there is still that juvenile offender on the loose quality to him. Teaming him up with LL Cool J was a stroke of genius. They play off of each other so well. Pulling in Oscar winner Linda Hunt to play Hetty was a masterstroke. This show is well cast and the writing is solid. I have to disagree with other reviewers about Adam Jamal Craig and Daniela Ruah. I think they put in very solid performances as supporting team members. And Barrett Foa is perfect as the somewhat geeky technical assistance. All in all, a fun show to watch. I look forward to it marking as many seasons as it's forerunner, NCIS.
As I said in the title is this show is one of the best spinoffs that I've seen in a long time. It has good action, good humor and very exciting, possibly more exciting that the original. However after Granger left or Martin Ferreo passed away I've kind of lost interest, especially when they brought that horrible woman, Mosley on to take his place. Since she is ice cold, stuck up and wants to seperate the team, it's just not the same. I hope Mosley will be fired from NCIS cause I think that she just a terrible character and the team being seperated will ruin the show. I also don't care for Callen dating Anna but that's another story. Still, I don't hate the show it's just hate Mosley (Nia Long).

- TriviaMiguel Ferrer was so devoted to his role, he refused to take time off, even when diagnosed with cancer. When it started to affect his voice, his illness was written into the character as well.
