Olivia lost almost all of her baby teeth during the production of the movie.
The scenes with actors were shot entirely in Austin and the shots of New York were added later when Ben Foster took a trip to the city and rented a camera. There is one composite shot, adding New York behind the actors.
Edited in five different locations over the 2 year production.
The Colt .45 that Billy used was a real gun and was owned by actor Billy Harvey. He purchased it in the 90's after being robbed in his oceanfront apartment on Venice Beach.
Steve Muccini who plays the pawn shop owner has worked in every project the directors have collaborated on. He is always seen holding a gun that he never fires.
