I wasn't expecting a lot fro this movie. It was a title on netflix. The acting is great and so are the lines. What I didn't like about the movie was the direction. Some of the camera shots seemed to be unintentionally shaky. I did not like the way some of the scenes were framed. I think the director could have been more creative taking into account the setting of the movie. It did have some cool shots toward the end but at the beginning it was not impressive. Most of it seemed like when they turn wide screen media into 3:4 ratio and it looks zoomed in. I don't know if this is an issue with netflix or not. I wouldn't recommend this movie if you want to be blow away. I did like that it was more real than what you see in a Hollywood film. Also, the casting was interesting.
This is not a Hollywood sugary film with the concocted great ending where everyone lives happily ever after. It is more realistic & about a world where most people die without having lived their dreams. You must watch the video clip at the end. It's a very sad story, but done very well. The acting was great, the directing, & writing. I like that the director didn't have these explicit sex & violence scenes like they do in Hollywood because it's a story about people. I will purchase the film for my media library. I feel that everyone should see films like this to help them appreciate what they have, opportunities, etc. Perhaps it will move them to help the people who are born into these conditions. A lot of children do not have the option of attending free basic elementary & middle school education like we do here in the U.S. A lot of them do not have access to jobs.
