Don't know what some people are watching! The AARYA I watched was entertaining, not boring and not a 'copy' of any american TV Show. The performance of the cast is believable(you might come across some people complaining about actors not delivering their dialogues properly, lol, that is what contributes to the vulnerability of the characters!) I have watched my fair share of American/British TV shows, would recommend this "thriller".
A story well told, gripping and well maintained. Brilliant performance by Sushmita sen, she nailed it with her acting skills. She deserves more such roles. Gets bit dragged in some portions but thats avoidable. Overall a good watch

If you like "Ozark" series this one is for you.
It is absolutely different from ozark and beautiful it in own's way.
Sushmita sen & unknown actor really set the bar high.
While bollywood films keeps on getting worst, Series are really redifining the bollywood capability.

Did never expect such a great story and storytelling. Some twists just blew my mind. Not comparing with breaking bad but there are similarities as to how much a parent can do to save their family.
Brilliant show overall.

I thought I was done with Indian web series, most of them full of non sense, over the top drama and sequences but here comes Aarya...Gripping, detailed, very well written and superb performances. Yes, Sushmita Sen is back and how!
Some people are complaining of the slow pace but that's perfectly fine with me if the story binds you. All in all a perfect series for me.

Story progression is very slow. Plot is quite easy to guess, if you have watched similar geners. Whole season picks pace in last two episodes. Thanda acting by everyone. Maybe potrayal of a mother is well depicted!

Loved it! Everyone acted superb, Sushmita is in the lead & she justified it very well.
Superb thriller.
I thought I was done with Indian web series because of all the controversies in Pataal lok but this one's pretty neat & doesn't disrespect any religion, caste or section.
Cast is superb! Characters like Khan & Daulat were just too apt for the role. Small details are given importance. I liked the solar eclipse reference, especially it's last scene. Dialogues are not heavy and very well delivered, looks like people are talking to each other. This adds to its realism.
Everyone acted well!
We were hooked and completed entire series in one weekend.
Second season is nothing but slow poison.
First season was good but lost interest in second.
And Dasvidaniya is the only Russian word known by director.

Poorer writing and acting than Season 1 and Sushmita Sen's rapid vacillation between steely resolve and whimpering/pleading is getting on my nerves :-(

The story and plots are fresh compare to all other similar series like family man, pataal lok, Mirzapur etc. Well written and very good direction with lots of twists and thrills all over the series. Everybody acted very well but Sushmita Sen has overshadowed everyone with her brilliant mind blowing performance. No nepotism only talent speaks here, so support this kind of content. Watched a very good crime drama Hindi series after a long long time. Became a fan of Sen after this series and eagerly waiting for second part.

Very nice Mahabharata based story. Sushmita Sen and all the other actors have performed really well. Please do watch it and do go by Google reviews, they haven't tried a bit to defame any profession. Awaiting next season. Well done.

Aarya is a crime drama web series co-created by Ram Madhvani, who has directed Neerja (2016) previously. It is based on the Dutch drama series Penoza by Pieter Bart Korthuis. It features Sushmita Sen in the titular role. I binge-watched all the 9 episodes, because I could not stop myself after the first episode.
I like the thrillers which start nicely, build up the pace and ends fantastically- and Aarya is exactly that. I don't want to add any spoiler here, so I would just say that the story is fantastic, to say the least.
I liked all the actors except Chandrachur. He lacks versatility and has a constant worry expression on face. Other than him, all the actors are fantastic. In fact, it seems that every actor has lived the character's life, he/she portrays. Sushmita Sen is the best of the lot. One wonders, why she has been so under-used in Bollywood so far. Her dialogue delivery is terrific. She really gets into the skin of Aarya.
After Neerja, Ram Madhvani has told another story in a realistic manner. Though Aarya is a thriller, the characters, unlike many other thrillers I've seen, are very recognisable and down to earth. The real locations also add to the feel of the movie.
Overall a very gripping thriller to binge-watch.

Sushmita was amazing in this show - her calm demeanor and deep voice was just perfect.
But everything else about the show was frustrating. The director kept killing people for no real reason. The series got boring and depressing as it went along. The finale of season 1 was somewhat decent as it wrapped things up.
The season 2 was bad from the beginning to the end, so avoid that even if you like season 1. Even Sush looked tired and dull in season 2.

I watched Season 1 when it was released which was some time ago, remember that it was engrossing enough.
Just finished Season 2 a couple of days ago. Season 2 is slicker, better made and a cracker of a thriller. Sushmita Sen is most convincing as Aarya, a mother of three caught up in the most unanticipated life changing events, and now prepared to face them head on at any cost, for the sake of her children.
No point in summarising the narrative as that would spoil the thrill for those who havent seen Aarya 2 yet.

SUSHMITA SEN IS BACK OR I WOULD LIKE TO SAY HAS STARTED HER REAL ACTING CARRIER ! SHE IS JUST KICKASS !
I was extremely looking forward to to watch this series, and man it hasn't disappointed me. RAM MADHVANI is also back after long time. The story is one type of slow burn, like international Series it develops the charecters slowly so that you can connect with them. The Performance of the whole cast is just brilliant. And Susmita Sen, off ! BOLLYWOOD was just wasting her. She perfectly pulled off the role of AARYA. The role has many layers which was just perfectly acted by her.
The series consists 9 episodes and each episode is 1 hour long so you have to give 9 hours to watch the series, that might be the only bad thing, the editing. But otherwise it worth a watch and It worth a hype. Extremely looking forward for the next season.

Before Arya 2 releases, I managed to complete S1.
TBH, according the series, the story begins from when Tej gets assassinated but for audience, the real fun begins from Ep6. Before that, the series moves extremely slowly with family members constantly mourning now and them about the death of Tej and those sequences are so long that you wish the editing was better.
Overall, this series is not only about the illegal drug buisness story but about individual characters and their own stories and conflicts . Whenever the latter kicks in, the series slows down. It seems the director wanted to get us immersed heavily into the Sareen family and not just leave it as a superficial part which imo is a good thing but it slows down things. Whenever the main story kicked in, the series shifted gears.
Some scenes are outright uncomfortable making it a doubtful family watch. Two young kids lip locking , consuming drugs and stuff ....then Aarya's daughter barely looking 16 smoking cigarettes , lip kissing a foreigner out of romance stuff like that felt weird and uncomfortable to me and seriously feel kids should stay away from this series, strictly adult series.
Sushmita sen still packs in the power to nail such roles. A lot of starcast all have done a decent job.
Honest opinion , dont watch this series after seeing Arya S2 trailer (the mistake I made). The person who killed Tej can be predicted from far off if you see the S2 trailer.

Again Indian IMDB rating disappointed me and many of my acquaintances and friends shares the same feeling. I began watching it just because of the hype and ratings. But After watching so many quality content, this series would show you all the flaws acting, direction, plot the whole series could have. Really School drama kind of acting direction. Please if you are accustomed to quality content, skip this as it will just waste your time.
