My husband got me into the show but one thing we both agree on....the fact that every single time they hear a noise....they scream over it and run....is so aggravating. Watch a few episodes of Ghost Hunters. They will show you how to react and attempt to learn from the sights and sounds you experience. TAPS may show surprise or excitement at a sound or vision but they don't panic. They don't scream.
Stop screaming!
That is all.

Chelsea screams too much. As long as yall have been doing this, I would expect more decorum and professionalism. Then again you model this show around zac bagans and he's a total narcissistic goony googoo.

The person who runs the Sweet Springs Sanitarium recently told the Destination Fear cast that she respected how they portrayed her location honestly and did not employ theatrics to make their show come across dramatic. She thanked them. On a personal note, to me, Destination Fear gets more terrifying with each episode. It's also a genuine experience for the viewer. The episodes depict real hauntings & real people reacting to what happens at a location. It's a refreshing change of pace and it's exactly what I have been looking for.
Real hauntings. Real reactions. Fly on the wall vibe of experiencing it with them. Adventure seekers facing real fear and challenging themselves. And they are entertaining and relatable.
I love Destination Fear!!!

Heard of Dakota when he was on Ghost Adventures & my friend told me about Destination Fear. I have watched all three episodes thus far and this last one was amazing. Best compelling evidence of the paranormal I have ever seen in any of the ghost hunting shows I watch. Definitely leaves you on your toes!! The realness that Dakota and his team bring makes it that much better.

I'm in absolute awe of this show! The setup, the cast, the filming and editing are so good you'll be sitting on the edge of your seat while watching. It's such a unique show and far surpasses the other paranormal shows on this network. It isn't nearly as dramatized as other shows so you get real reactions from real people. I hope this show gets renewed for season 2, 3, 4 and beyond. It's the only show that really puts the "travel" in travel channel.

Update: The newest season has given me hope. They are using more equipment. They are catching evidence finally. Chelsea is still a annoying but not as much. They still run around like kids before the investigation still. But during the investigation they have gotten better about it. Looks like zak bagans is setting up the new generation of ghost hunting.
They walk around the investigation sites like teenagers. They do not use any equipment, every once in awhile they use a recorder. The female screams and cries any time there's a noise. So you can't hear what's going on. They rarely do play backs, so you can hear it. When something does happen, they just freak out and move on. They do not go and investigate where the sounds or lights come from. I feel they are not true investigators, they treat this like an opportunity to get on TV.

It's not so much a paranormal investigation show as it is a paranormal experience and the human response to fear. The family dynamics is an interesting angle not really seen before. Far exceeded my expectations, highly recommended!

They might be a bit embellished, but I like this show! The premise is a bit repetitive and the response "oh my god, this is the worst" to everything gets old, but the people are unusually likeable (personally can't stand a lot of ghost hunting presenters) on the whole. I buy their reactions. I definitely buy that Dakota is terrified of everything (though they're all braver than me to spend a night alone in a haunted place).
I agree half the show being about the presenters is a bit of a waste of time (like how Most Haunted wasted half their original hour long show just walking around telling you things instead of getting to the good bit) but there isn't a lot of the dramatisation you get in American ghost hunting shows. It feels a bit more genuine.

This show is a joke. It's too test their fear but yet they get scared when an 18 wheeler drives by them. Nothing is real about this show. They separate to "sleep" which gives all 3 a chance to run around and create everything that is being heard.

I was very skeptical of this show before I started watching it, partly because it's produced by Zak Bagans who thinks every haunting is a demon and partly because Dakota and the team always seemed to be screaming in the previews. I finally decided to give it a shot and see how they go about investigating a haunting. I started with season two and was surprised to see they don't actually investigate.
I think part of the reason there are so many negative reviews is because people expect the Destination Fear team to investigate the haunting but that's not what they're doing. They are going to these places to EXPERIENCE the haunting. There's a big difference between experiencing a haunting and investigating one. Once I grasped the main concept, I actually came to really enjoy the show. Granted, Chelsea can be very irritating because she screams at every little noise and it seems like every other word that comes out of her mouth is "like" or "literally". There was one instance where she said "like" six times within one sentence. And yes, they do scare easily and sometimes they run away but there are also times where they go towards a noise to see what made it. To be completely honest, there were a couple episodes that thoroughly freaked me out (particularly Sweet Springs Sanitarium) and they do catch compelling evidence.
I highly recommend this show to anyone who wants to witness a haunting and not necessarily want to see how it's investigated. Try to look past the irritating speech patterns of Chelsea and the girlish screams and just enjoy their experiences. Also, it is hilarious every time Dakota gets frightened by his walkie.

Great production value, fun reactions, and a lot of banging noises add up to a surprisingly entertaining ghost hunting show.
The show is pretty standard ghost hunting fare, but they have a few smart gimmicks. First, they take a more vlog or youtube direction with plenty of cameras in their own face. It does a solid job of adding more of a personal touch to the characters. And second, they sleep in these haunted places over night which is just crazy. They really put their themselves in scary positions which is pretty good to watch.
That said, the show still feels a little too vanilla and sterile with overly produced FX and its perfect cuts. Also, the characters often seem outside of when they're doing the ghost hunt part of the show.
Finally, it seems like it shares a lot of resources with Ghost Adventures. Maybe I'm just imagining that but it really can do without a lot of that nonsense - this show can survive on its own.

What Ghost ???? Turn the camera AROUNDDDDDDDDDDDDD . The camera is always on the cast face .... annoying AF I dont understand the purpose due to it being a psychological experiment with no credibility reguarding the psychology ? Anyone can add I feel scared ........wow really ...had no idea
Only positive they get access to great locations .. but I barley learn or see anything get resolved ?So what is the purpose ?
Anyone can edit in sound or last minute ( I FEEEL ) .
I am tired of the blurriness and camera shaking . Don't understand why they call themselves professionals . I seen Youtube videos with more evidence and doesnt appear to be faking evidence which is insulting to those who actually grew up in a haunted house and had it impact their lives .
Plus if you grew up around the paranormal wouldn't you think they would behave a bit different ? What am I learning about fear ? What am i learning about the purpose of being their for spirit ?or is this just acting for entertainment ..... I tried to give this series a chance . TO Fake and overreacting , screaming contaminating the evidence that could have helped the spirits .
.
((((I feel insulted with the lack of intelligence it has for us as a audience .)))
Also The cast gets the fans to do all the work using status to stir the paranormal community . It must be nice to collect a check while disrespecting the dead . Also a budget to do fun things half of the show like paint ball and label it as facing your fear missing the who concept of fear ?Dakota is trying so hard to be like zak but can't back himself up ...But instead gets others to do his dirty work instead of facing his own responsiblities ..

Raw , unflinching and scary as $#!+ !!!! This is exactly what the paranormal field was missing , a real look into these amazing locations with bare bones equipment. It's way scarier when there is not a radio shack full of gear blinking and lighting up the screen. This is a real look at what it would be like to walk through these locations with your friends and a flashlight. It's terrifying and beautifully shot . Bravo

Really enjoy the programme. Binge watched it on Discovery+. For those who are leaving negative reviews.... Lighten up! A group of young people trying too scare themselves witless. Interesting use of some technology that does get a response and unexplained. Take it for what it is and enjoy it.

I LOVE this show. If you're a skeptic like me, most shows have you rolling your eyes at their attempts to convince you that what appears to be a napkin blowing from a fan supplied by the show is truly a tiny ghost who said, "Hello. I want to kill you." Not for me. 2019 Destination Fear explores paranormal while making it relatable to the viewer. The fear here is real not acting, and the more youthful cast is very relatable to all people as they aren't afraid to let true emotion show. It seems the shows with middle-aged cast members are more interested in convincing you of the paranormal than allowing you to make up your own mind about what you believe. I'm middle-aged, but there is an energy that comes from watching the youthful cast over the shows with middle-aged people. I prefer Destination Fear. It's reality paranormal investigation without all the snake oil salesmen and with an energy you don't get in the other shows. This is the best one that has come along in this category and it just gets better.
One would think after doing this for years, their nerves might harden. Yet they are always screaming. While recording the undetectable, constantly screaming at every noise seems counterproductive. Gets really old, really fast.
The audience can barely perceive the sounds, because one second later, all they hear is "WHOAH", "NO WAY!", "DID YOU HEAR THAT?". And, the camera is always on their faces, never the surroundings. Perhaps they could use some lessons from wildlife photographers.
I get that it is "about fear", but the premise also states that the fear induces paranormal activity. Ok, we got fear captured, how about getting some of the paranormal on tape?
In one episode, they talk about their car being trailed for 2 minutes by a UFO, yet Dakota didn't get it on film. Can you imagine being a paranormal documentarian, and honestly admitting that? For 2 whole minutes, the holy grail was was right there, and neither of you tried to capture the moment? I call BS.
They get paid, receive exposure, and travel to do all of this... the moaning about it all seems disingenuous. Few dozen episodes in and lots of adventures; stop faking it.

Prison, hospital, prison, hospital. Look at the episode list. They just go to the above. Oh wait...plus once a hotel. I get they went to do big locations but this rotation is crazy. They could literally set dress the hallway they sleep in to theme for each episode and we would never be the wiser. Entertaining. Questionable findings. Dramatic. And redundant. Be original and apply variety. Season 3 better be better or I'm over it.
The way Destination Fear is setup makes you feel like you are on the road trip with them. The fear I experienced while watching this show made my heart feel like it was beating out of my chest. You never know what could happen when they are at a location and it leaves you on the edge of your seat the entire time.
The cast has a great dynamic which can only come from growing up together. Their reactions are raw which makes is easier for viewers to relate to them. I really hope Destination Fear gets more seasons because it is my new favorite show!

The fact that some people are saying this is fake and believe that all the other shows in this genre are real makes me laugh, they're ALL fake, some are entertaining some not so much, this is entertaining because they seem to actually get scared which is hilarious as there is no such thing as ghosts but when your in a situation that's dark and quiet your brain can do very strange things, it's for protection because as humans we are wired to be scared of the dark because that's when the predators come out to eat, seeing this play out is hilarious, and they are either actually scared or very good actors, but that really doesn't matter
Every one of this kind of shows trot out the same old tropes of "this is what spirits do" whilst never photographing or videoing any actual evidence but that's not the point of these shows it's for entertainment it's not a scientific research show.
Good luck to them I hope they get another series to annoy all the haters haha 😂

I'm forced to watch this at work. I take care of people and they like to watch this show. That's perfectly okay because it's appropriate and keeps them entertaining. But I on the other hand would rather stab my eyeballs out and shoot my eardrums with a nail gun than sit and watch this horrible show. Aside from the poor sorry acting, their lines are so repetitive. For a whole episode all they said was: "oh my gosh, when I said make a noise he made a noise" "oh my gosh when I said stop the noise stopped".

I'm a skeptic through and through regarding ghosts. But it isn't because I don't believe that there are things unseen in this world which exist, it's because I actually do believe those things do in fact exist; just not in the way that shows like Destination Fear present it.
That said, I don't watch ghost hunter shows to see "ghosts." I watch them, because I find them highly entertaining and enjoyable. It's great mindless entertainment, and sometimes I need that and nothing more. It helps to escape reality for a little while; it's kind of therapeutic in that regard. So thank you Destination Fear.
I mean, there's few TV shows better, than watching a group of "ghost hunting" kids, running around "scared" of the things that go "bump in the night." And doesn't that sound familiar? Well, it would if you ever watched Saturday morning cartoons during the 1970s. You know, cartoons like Scooby-Doo? When I was a kid, I loved Scooby-Doo, and this is kind of like that; only with real kids, minus the dog and Mystery Machine van (these guys use a Class A motor home).
So almost perfect guys! They just need to get a burnt-orange colored dog with black spots, and a "groovy" custom Chevy van, and these guys on Destination Fear would be a solid 10 stars in my book.
So yeah, If people are willing to make total fools of themselves on a TV show in order to entertain folks like me, then they deserve to get paid money for doing it. Scooby-Doo made money for advertisers, writers, artists, voice actors, and more. These folks are no different than any other actors who provide "entertainment" for those of us willing to watch said entertainment. Why? Because there's actually value in that, hence the word, "entertainment."
So I don't mind that these shows are "fake" or that they've been scientifically debunked; yeah, it's such a surprise to know that this stuff isn't real huh? (Sarcasm) But frankly that's the point, is it not? So I'm not gonna bash these kids for doing what they're doing. Because as long as they enjoy creating the content, and people like me still enjoy watching it, then it's all good in my eyes!
7/10 stars rating.
But only because there are far too many times, when the actors pour it on a little too thick in the yelling and screaming department. Oh, and because they don't have a cute burnt-orange colored dog with black spots in various places on the team, nor do the technically have a custom van conversion for a Mystery Machine, instead choosing a Class A motor home.

They are annoying! They investigate, but as soon as they hear something, they run away, or say "STOP IT" "GO AWAY" like wtf.. isn't that what they went there for? To capture evidences and see how it affects them psychologically? Plus the "dude" and "bro"...just stop! Every location, Chelsea says "it's the worst" or "im not going in there" or "im not sleeping there by myself". Annoying script..annoying acting..
