I have to start off by saying I somehow actually like this show even though it has two things that annoy me more than any other show I can remember. The first is Jared's stutter. It's gotten so bad I thought my tv was glitching. He doesn't have a stutter in real life so I don't get it. It gets worse every season too to the point I have to fast forward through his scenes sometimes and this is coming from a fan of Jared's. He pauses between. Every. Single. Word. Too. Try watching with CC on, it's hilarious. Every word is repeated several times or has huh or ... between words. He's just awful in this. But even worse is Stella Walker. She might be the single worst character on tv. The constant whining and thinking she knows best even though every one of her decisions is terrible. The last time I disliked a character this much was Joffrey Baratheon on Game of Thrones. The actress isn't that bad it's the way she's written. Also, another bad thing about this show is how they made Liam a helpless, needy person. What adult acts the way he does? He's just so needy and acts like weak & afraid child. I follow this show on Reddit too and Jared's stutter and how awful Stella's character is are talked about more than anything else on the show so I'm not alone. Every episode's thread on Reddit talk about how they hate Jared's stutter and how they hope Stella gets killed off. Why didn't the writers fix these things that most of the fan base complained about? They actually went the other way and doubled down bc both the stutter and Stella got worse each season. It's a big reason their ratings went down and the show got canceled. Again, somehow I still watched the show but these two things make it hard to watch.

First off, I'm a big fan of Jared's, and was looking forward to seeing him in a new show. I never watched the original Walker much, as it was a little to cheesy for my taste, but I've always loved Chuck Norris.
Anyway, this show is very different from the original. I think a remake has a right to break new ground or change itself a bit. After all, that's kind of the point of a remake. However, in this case, the whole ranger/crime-solving aspect of the show takes a total back seat to all the family drama. It's basically a soap opera. There's very little action, too.
And as much as I hate to say it, much of the criticism of Jared's acting is accurate. He's an insecure, stuttering mess most of the time, unsure of what to do, but of course his strong female partner is always there to save the day. I wish they'd portray him as strong, confident, and sure of himself.
I watched the first couple of seasons, but I just couldn't stick with it any longer. It's worth checking out, but just don't be expecting a good action show, because this definitely isn't it.

I want to like this show more. I love the cast. But I'd like to see real story lines where there's crimes to solve and justice for breaking the law that DOESN'T involve the entire family CONSTANTLY being the center of danger and kidnappings and suspicions of being criminals themselves... Come on now. This show could be amazing if the family could stop being targets. Give the characters a story line where they are real people with real problems and let the rangers solve non-personal crimes. I keep watching it hoping it'll get better. If they changed the writing, this show could stay on for many years.

The characters on this show are some of the most stupid and completely inept people on the entire planet. Every single episode has Walker, his kids, his partner, etc- doing the absolute dumbest and absurd things, rather than what should/would actually be done in the circumstance. Soooo vehemently unrealistic and disappointing. They took Chuck Norris' original characte and turned him into a neutered cry-baby with no fighting skills. Despite the military background, this guy couldn't drive a manual transmission vehicle until his wife taught him??? Seriously? ... . . and despite him being a decorated veteran, he can't even fistfight with decent proficiency. This show SUCKS!

The show is finding its footing. It *is* more of a family melodrama than anything else, so if you go into it with that understanding, you can just sit back and enjoy the ride. Great scenery, appealing actors. I wish it had a little more grit to it, though. True grit.

The lead actor Seems to ne the worst actor of the Bunch. Can't even make a sentence without studdering 5-6 Times in a 3 words sentence. And... It's not a knock on studdering people... IT would actually be better if he would!
Suppose to be this hotshot army Guy and Ranger, but somewhat dim wit with a bad temper. Makes you want to slap him a Little or a lot.
Family around, all good... But why all the crap things are always directed at Them?! Is There no other people in Austin?
Somewhat entertaining but de really would appreciate caracters with Higher I. Q.
To me, His collegues and long Time friend make the show.

Jared is horrible. I can't stand watching him. He over-acts and stammers. The show might be worth watching if he weren't in it. He doesn't stutter. He pauses between words on everything he does. It makes him sounds like he has a brain injury.. The writing lacks as well. I can't stand to watch things are aren't realistic. Law enforcement does not do what these people do. Hire someone that's a retired law enforcement officer to help with scenes that require the rangers to actually go after people. When you open a perpetrator's door, the officer behind you doesn't stand right in front of the door in the line of fire. The details matter. It's a law enforcement show for heaven's sake.

I can't stress enough just how much this show improves week after week. I genuinely can't wait to see what they have in store for the newly announced third season, if the production team can keep it up then it's sure to be the best one yet.
This show does not give enough to walker who is supposed to be the main character. The female ranger seems to trump him at every turn. This can not hold my attention because the original walker was action pack. This show is boring to say the least.

I wasn't expecting to like this so much!! The cast and chemistry is such a hit, and the story is compelling - I want to know more!! I love that Walker is nowhere near perfect and how Micki puts him in his place.
Watch this show along with me and lets see where it goes!!!

A neurotic "Walker, Texas Ranger" with a speech impediment leading him to pause nervously between words, one who walks into walls by accident when in a stressing situation, who jitters and crouches like a scared mouse when faced with adversity ... a guy who erroneously jumps to conclusions, almost never wins a fight, who's unsure about himself and the world around him, indecisive, ineffective, apologetic ...
Hollywood, what are you guys doing over there? What's next? A dumb MacGyver without the swiss army knife or maybe a Rambo who tries talking it out first?
I'm fast forwarding through half the scenes Hollywood - your modern take on everything, and your political correctness, is ruining tv. Please stop ...

What I really love about this show is that it's almost a perfect blend of dramatic, comedic and warm family friendly moments. All of which are usually surrounded by an intriguing mystery.
I like the seasoned actors on this show. I DON'T like the children. They don't have respect for others and they are entitled. The writing is so stupid!!! What American law enforcement agency will let a snotty nosed child come in and answer the phones??!! This snotty nosed ass hole child just happens to be the one who receives the call from crooks. A Texas Ranger has been kidnapped and his brother is out galavanting and shopping. What is he shopping for, Crudités? Why the eff would he be out shopping for anything??!! Do better with the writing. I'm glad those crooks beat up Walker's kids. They deserved it! Again, do better with the writing. Are you beginners?? Seriously, do better. The good actors on the show deserve no less. Because of the stupid writing, I have to rate the show a 6. The 6 is because of the unrealistic writing, but the actors are solid. The actors do what they can with what they have.

I don't know if it's Jared that is acting so bad or the writers that are responsible for such a bad character.
By far, Cordell Walker is the worst character of the show. Always talking, stuttering in 3 words sentences, always choking, duh, duh, duh. The fake smiles. He wasn't that bad in Supernatural.
I watched all 3 seasons cuz the other characters are interesting. I usually don't like teenagers cuz writers portray them as emo characters. But Stella is a fun character to watch.
Overall, with a better actor or better writers for the Cordell character, the show would get a 6 or 7 review. But Cordell is sooooo bad that it flunks to 1.

Walker needs to go to a speech class. He sounds like he has no clue what he is supposed to say and uses filler sounds. His facial expressions are really Weird. It is like he doesn't know if he should be mad so he makes faces. I am so disappointed in the show compared to Chuck Norris' Walker. This Walker is a bumbling whatever.

Now to be clear, this was never a bad show in my opinion but it definitely wasn't as strong as I had hoped it would be. Now though, it looks like the creatives behind the scenes have taken the criticisms to heart and used them to make improvements since it's a much stronger show.

After watching first episode, and being reluctant about watching in the first place, this is without a doubt, one of the worst shows of all time. Hollywood ought to learn of their mistakes, and stop making productions like this. USA have the lowest standard in tv shows and movies, and just keep on making remakes of tv and movie productions from other countries, when they are not remaking their own. Where are the creative minds these days? Is the future of Hollywood no where to be found?

So, started out really choppy. It's improving and I am still watching. I just have to be in a "don't expect too much" mood to watch. Jared is still the main reason I'm still watching.
Just wish they would surprise us with something new.

I truly wanted to see a good story line (Texas style). I was not expecting a Chuck Norris performance, although I was expecting something better then a high school level performance with one take scenes!
I am not sure which is worst, the writing or the acting?
The scripts are all one dimensional with very little excitement.
Being a native Texan, I am embarrassed that this show attaches it's self to Texas (this is not how true Texans act like). These folks act more like west coast Californians.
This show is a disgrace to the State of Texas, the Texas Rangers, the Writers Guild. The Screen Actors Guild, and anyone else this show is pretending to emulate!
PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW IT TO AIR ANOTHER YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually enjoyed Walker more than I thought I would. I never saw the original so I had no expectations going in. It follows Cordell Walker (Jared Padalecki) who returns home after being undercover for two years. He left after his wife was murdered. He returns to try to put his life and family back together. He returns to his job as Texas Ranger only to find out that the job has changed too. It seems like most of the people who don't like it are comparing it to the original and don't like that it's different. Just try to enjoy it for what it is and that's a pretty darn good show. I'm a fan Padalecki from his time on Supernatural and he's good in this too. It's one of the best rated shows on CW so it'll probably be around for a while and I plan on sticking around for the ride.
I still kinda liked the serie, i wanted to know wats gonna happen at the end nd bcuz im a huge fan of jared, but i expected much more than i got. It was painful to watch at some points, its just bad scripts, bad plots, bad acting overall, it felt so rushed. But wtf r those gun fights ?.

Supernatural had two great lead characters, but the actual characterisation didn't need to be much more than a extension of the actors own personalty.
And then we have this silliness.
Jared seems to have an inability to have the required poker face for a law enforcement part, as far as I understand the prerequisites for such a role. He constantly, and I mean in every scene he is in for the duration, gurns. He gurns happily when he is jolly, scowls gurnily when he is irritated and gurns guiltily when trying to keep a secret.
Is the character afflicted with some sort of tourettes? Is Jared chewing some really sour and nasty baccy? Has a demon possessed his lower jaw? Is Jared trying to reinvent Chuck Norris' Walker as Forrest Gump?
I suspect that the other actors in this show are so po faced as to prevent them from corpsing due to Jared's ridiculous performance. Walker comes across as an idiot with no control over his face. How anyone is fooled by his undercover antics is a mystery.

Walker will definitely keep you entertained and invested. The plot goes by at a great pace with no storyline over staying it's welcome, something I really appreciate as other shows have a tendency to needlessly drag things out.

When I first saw a remake of Walker Texas Ranger happening, with one of my favorite TV actors as Walker, I was excited...now, I'm just so disappointed.
Absolutely everyone else in the show is awesome, including the talented and oh so HOT Lindsey Morgan, her leaving the show is gonna hurt them, but Padalecki, who was great in Supernatural, is just plain awful! I can't figure out what he's trying to do with his face! There is waay too much going on there, even his bodies mannerisms are unexplainable and spastic. I hope he's not on drugs, which was my first thought, but whatever it is, he stinks, and I'm quite sure the only reason he has the main role, is because he's also the show's producer.
Out of loyalty to the original Chuck Norris character, and because like I said, the other actors are great, I will keep watching to the end, but I expect that end to come soon, you can't have a long-running series, with a terrible lead.

I expected this to be at least based on the same formula as the original. The main character is nothing like it - he is portrayed as weak, lost and clueless and in need of guidance from two 'together' main female characters who are condescending. There drama but no action to speak of.
What is it with modern reboots like Walker, Star Trek and others? They are not true to the original values that made these shows so great and instead hijacked by a 'woke' view of the world.
So, who is this show aimed at?? Men will hate it and women won't be interested in it.
