The movie shows John List having changed very little from 18 years earlier. In reality he aged quite a lot having gone bald on top and the little hair he had left turned completely gray.
During one of the Most Wanted broadcasts, the use of the Amber Alert was mentioned. The Amber Alert system was not in place until 1996, seven years after List was captured.
John List did not kill his second wife, she in fact stayed committed to him after his arrest believing he was Robert Peter Clark. She filed for divorce when it was proven though finger prints and military records he was in fact John List.
In the opening scenes the sister and brother return home. The boy sits down to watch TV. He turns on a college football game. The TV sports announcer doing the play by play says that the pass is intercepted prior to the quarterback throwing the football.
Not only are the audio and video out of sync, the announcer says it is an interception, when on TV the play is a completion.
When "Bob Clark" murders his wife, Dolores, her blood spatters across the local newspaper. Despite the murder taking pace in Colorado, the local newspaper shows advertisements for companies in Chepstow, Wales (where much of the movie was actually shot).
