I remember watching the first episode and wondering what the point was but by the third series it's one of the funniest shows on TV. Carr and the guests are funny, the actors always add something unique and entertaining, and the rounds where movie scenes are acted out are hilarious.
I went into this expecting the typical British panel show fare. Which is more or less what I got, at first. Until of course some of the skits were introduced, specifically the scene recreations. When I say side splitting, I mean it. These can be absolutely hilarious, with some of my personal favorite being the Jerry M skit, and the IT skit. Fantastic and original idea to have the panelists redo these scenes, some of which are A list celebs and actors.
The in-between stuff is good too. It's had generally likeable guests and people that aren't afraid to make a bit of fun of themselves. The harry met sally recreations are absolutely BRUTAL to watch, but are genuinely side splitting. Especially Jen Saunders turn at the scene. Fantastic stuff.
In the end, you get a show that doesn't promise much more than a little chuckle and the odd movie reference, but ends up being genuinely good stuff. I belly laugh at LEAST once per episode, which is a hell of a lot more than I can say for more or less any other show like this.
FAR BETTER THAN EXPECTED. Give it a try.

I wasn't a fan of Alan Carr before I watched this programme but I love him in this! The first season with Micky Flanagan was better but I cry with laughter every episode I watch! The humour in it is unparalleled and I hope they continue to make more seasons.
