Prime Video has announced that the Australian Original The Office will premiere on October 18. The comedy series is the thirteenth version of the global hit juggernaut franchise and has the first-ever female lead in the iconic role, comedian and actor Felicity Ward who plays Hannah Howard, Managing Director of Flinley Craddick.

All eight episodes of The Office Australia will be available on October 18 exclusively on Prime Video in 240 countries and territories worldwide (excluding the U.S.) in the Prime membership.

Deadline can reveal that the pair have two non-fiction projects in production at the streamer. They form part of the overall deal that she and her husband, Harry, The Duke of Sussex, signed with the company in 2020 via their Archewell Productions banner.

Australian comedian and actor Felicity Ward will portray Hannah Howard, the MD of packaging company Flinley Craddick in “The Office Australia.” In a post-covid plot twist, Howard gets news from head office that her branch will be shutting down and that staff will have to work from home. She goes into survival mode, making promises she can’t keep and launches outlandish plots in order to keep her “work family” together.

The Australian adaptation is the 13th iteration of the show that was originally created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Other international retreads have included those in France, Canada, Chile, Israel and the Middle East.

BBC comedy boss Jon Petrie is to spend the year identifying a “package of measures that industry, government and regulators can come together on to safeguard comedy’s future,” while calling for a comedy tax credit.

David Mitchell is returning to the BBC for genre-bending detective comedy Ludwig, which features on a five-strong comedy slate alongside Hulu co-production Dinosaur and a show from The Duchess star Michelle de Swarte.

Katherine Ryan has admitted she is eager to “roast” celebrities and revealed that an award show stage would be the perfect place for her to do it.

The Canadian comedian, 39, who starred in The Duchess, explained in a new interview that she “would die” to present any of the major awards ceremonies this season.

The mother-of-three told Metro: “I would die to present the Baftas or the Oscars or the Emmys or the Mobo awards or the Brits – anything like that.

Nadine Macaluso has spilt the truth about the accuracy of Martin Scorsese’s 2013 film, The Wolf of Wall Street.

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie as former real-life couple Jordan Belfort and Maculoso, the dramedy blockbuster follows the success and downfall of Belfort’s brokerage firm, which he built by scamming millionaires.

Based on Belfort’s 2007 memoir of the same name, the film remains fairly accurate to its source material. However, according to Macaluso – priorly Nadine Caridi – she would disagree with the movie’s portrayal of her “love life that was a Greek tragedy”.

Per Deadline, the streamer has canceled Hit & Run after a single season.

In this action thriller," a happily married man’s life is turned upside down when his wife is killed in a mysterious hit and run accident in Tel Aviv," reads the logline.

"Grief-stricken and confused, he searches for his wife’s killers, who have fled to the U.S."

"With the help of an ex-lover, he uncovers disturbing truths about his beloved wife and the secrets she kept from him."

The cast included Lior Raz, Sanaa Lathan, Kaelen Ohm, Moran Rosenblatt, Gal Toren, Lior Ashkenazi, and Gregg Henry.

The series launched in early August with a nine-part season.

The streamer has not revealed viewership metrics to date, but it is thought the series failed to garner traction on par with the other new original series this season.

Starring and executive-produced by Fauda‘s Lior Raz, the nine-episode thriller centered on Segev Azulay, a former Israeli mercenary-turned-family man who was thrust back into the world of espionage after his wife’s violent death unearthed a world full of mysteries, secrets and lies. Sanaa Lathan (The Affair) co-starred as Naomi Hicks, an old fling from Segev’s past and a dogged investigative reporter.

Atwell will voice the franchise hero, Lara Croft, in the new series based on Square Enix’s iconic game.
