Sue Ellen Ewing: [to Jamie, who's relaxing by the pool] Swimming's great for the figure. Not that you have to worry about that. Is there something else you'd rather do?
Jamie Ewing: There's nothing else *to do.* I mean, swimming and shopping, that's all great for a change, but...
[sighs]
Jamie Ewing: I mean, if you're, like, on vacation or something. That's all we ever do. I guess I"m just not used to it.
Sue Ellen Ewing: You need to work, right?
Jamie Ewing: Yeah, I think so.
Sue Ellen Ewing: All right. I happen to know that there's an opening at Ewing Oil.
Jamie Ewing: At Ewing Oil? In what department?
Sue Ellen Ewing: Well, actually, it's the receptionist at Ewing offices.
Jamie Ewing: [sighs] The receptionist?
[face drops]
Jamie Ewing: Not exactly the type of job I had in mind. I mean, I don't know anything about being a receptionist. Not alone having to hang around J.R. all day. I'm sure he'd be thrilled to have me there.
Sue Ellen Ewing: I've already talked to him about it, and believe me, he won't be a problem.
Jamie Ewing: Right. It's not bad enough to have me hanging around the house all day, but now I'll be hanging around the office too. Nah. It's not the type of job I want.
Sue Ellen Ewing: Well, I know that, but it doesn't have to be permanent. But it would be something for you to do until we can find you something you like.
Jamie Ewing: I don't know.
Sue Ellen Ewing: Well, I really felt that you'd feel that anything would be better than sitting around here all day.
Jamie Ewing: That's true...
Sue Ellen Ewing: Well then?
Jamie Ewing: We'll see.
