This episode kick starts the old siries. I've watched the first 4 episodes so far, where you can find this show free on YouTube. And if you loved this show growing up as a kid, I'm sure you'll still love it as an adult sharing the same experiences as a child. I'm a bit too young, but I can still say I am very much enjoying this siries. And that's largely down to the concept which is very well thought out, a group of kids telling scary stories next to the fire in the dark. And also them all taking turns in telling a scary story baste on experiences and general horror themes. But I also love the mystery surrounding the siries, so far which has kept up dramatically well. And the premise is simple and easy to follow, and not being too far fetched. And with it's smart and clever premise, will lead to endless possibilities and a long running show, which we sort of got here. But, much with the success of Episodes 2-4, the same cannot be said for it's aired pilot.
Buzz keeps reminding his brother is a jerk, and thanks we guessed the first time. And that's because the boys got lossed and his younger brother was holding the map, and the compass. And they needed to find a town, but they were cold, whiny and lost. They kept bickering with each other, and not much else in the story really happened. Until they see a person, when all hope was lost, they gained some of it back. Flynn comes to see the boys, and knows exactly the right place for them to go.
They go to Dr. Vink's labatory. He's a bizarre and rather weird scientist, that loves riddles. Denney trying to prove his brother wrong by trying to guess a riddle. Ounce they've solved it, they get help. Unfortunately things turn for the worst when they find out they haven't gotten it right, and now have to survive the dark, cold night alone. But they then see a cab, and hope isn't lost yet. They hop in, and it's Flynn who's driving, but can these boys brake the curse before it's too late, before they are dead meat, ofcourse they can. Denney being very good at riddles meant they could brake the curse, from 20 years ago. It all feels a bit familiar in terms of it's premise, but all in all not bad. Now time for my verdict.
Verdict,
5/10 Weak Entry, Character writing could've been better, but definitely is cheesy fun.
