- Quotes
Kookie: I would think it's the most if you would send the undersigned your opus on the use of the ink-and-digit jazz.
Suzanne Fabray: Ink-and-digit jazz?
Pete Roscoe: He means fingerprints; Frenchie.
Kookie: That's what I said.
Pete Roscoe: I know it and you know it, but do they know it?
Kookie: Now where was I? Read it back.
Suzanne Fabray: All of it?
Kookie: All of it.
Pete Roscoe: Yeah, slow. Like a fifty-to-one shot, so I maybe could understand it.

Veteran movie heavy Alan Baxter plays a Bugsy Siegel type criminal who does some of his own killing. He comes in and catches wife Carol Ohmart in the clutches of John Reach a nightclub owner and empties a pistol into him. Unfortunately a friend of Jacqueline Beer's the efficient French secretary at Bailey&Spencer sees Baxter as well. Ruth Douglas has good reason to fear for her life.
Of course Bailey&Spencer work full time and on the house with the LAPD in solving the killing. They also have to protect their witness and that's becoming a problem since they don't know yet who it is Douglas saw.
Nice performances from Alan Baxter and from Carol Ohmart who in this is the tramp's tramp. She likes to play it dangerously though cheating on a guy with Baxter aka Siegel's legendary temper.
