Way back in 2020, Hyperstrange, released their horror arcade Fps Crossbow: Bloodnight onto Steam, followed by the Nintendo Switch the next year. Hyperstrange has now announced that Crossbow: Bloodnight will be making its way onto PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series and Xbox One on September 27.
Created by the developers of Postal: Brain Damaged and Elderborn, Crossbow: Bloodnight is a fast-paced shooter begins in the year 1139. The Second Council of the Lateran convened by Pope Innocent II has pronounced anathema on the use of crossbow, due to its “ungodly, demonic” power. It turns out that this wasn’t a the best idea.

UTA Independent Film Group has acquired Uwe Boll’s upcoming migrant crisis thriller “Run,” starring Emmy and Tony award winner Amanda Plummer (“Star Trek: Picard”) and James Russo (“Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1”).
UTA will handle global sales for the pic, produced by Boll’s U.S.-Canadian shingle Event Film and his German outfit Bolu.
UTA takes over from the film’s initial sales company, Stuttgart-based Kinostar, headed by “Run” executive producer Michael Roesch. The move is seen as an advantage for potential worldwide deals.
“We are thrilled to work with UTA for the global sales of ‘Run’ and can’t wait to introduce the movie to audiences around the world,” said Boll.
“We are excited that UTA loves the strong performances of our ensemble cast as much as we do, and we can’t wait to start working with them,” added Roesch.

The recent critical acclaim for HBO’s The Last of Us and the box office success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie have sparked a wave of optimism. Could this be a turning point for video game adaptations?
Pedro Pascal as Joel Miller in The Last of Us
For decades, such adaptations have struggled to capture the essence of beloved games and translate them effectively to the cinematic medium. Despite Hollywood’s persistent efforts to turn popular video game characters into cinematic heroes, the vast majority of these adaptations have fallen flat.

For the longest time, adapting video games into movies or television was an all but guaranteed disaster; films like "Postal," "Rampage," "Doom," and "Max Payne" were all met with widespread derision. But 2023 has provided a major turning point: Thanks to the enormous box-office success of "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" and the massive acclaim for the HBO series "The Last of Us," video games are finally being looked at as a source for great stories.
That brings us to Peacock's "Twisted Metal." I've been playing video games my whole life, and if you were to ask me what games would make a great television series, "Twisted Metal" would be at the bottom of my list -- if it even appeared at all. That's not because they're bad games mind you, but they are significantly lacking any significant story. There's a pretense of one, but it's a franchise all about driving...

Uwe Boll, it seems, is back.
The notorious German director of Rampage, Postal and Far Cry has wrapped production on his new film, First Shift, a New York cop drama set over an intense 12-hour shift of a veteran NYPD officer and his rookie partner. It is Boll’s first U.S. film in five years, since 2016’s Rampage: President Down.
Gino Anthony Pesi (Shades of Blue) plays the veteran cop, with Kristen Renton (Sons of Anarchy) as the rookie. First Shift shot on location in New York and is currently in postproduction at Tunnel Post in Los Angeles.
Unlike many of the films in his oeuvre, from Seed (2006) and Postal (2007) to the Rampage trilogy — movies that indulged in extreme, graphic onscreen bloodshed — First Shift, Boll says, will show his kinder, gentler side.

After a long break from feature films, director Uwe Boll is back and ready to roll with his latest project, a crime drama about two mismatched New York City cops on their first day as partners.
“First Shift” stars Kristen Renton (“Sons of Anarchy”) and Gino Anthony Pesi (“Shades of Blue”) as the badge-carrying duo, she a transplant from Atlanta new to the Big Apple, he a jaded Brooklyn cop who prefers to work alone but forced to take on the new partner.
Set to start shooting in New York City next month, “First Shift” has moved ahead of two other projects Boll has in the works, a South Africa-set thriller and a feature about Prohibition-era federal agent Eliot Ness — famously played by Kevin Costner and Robert Stack in the 1987 film and the 1959 series “The Untouchables” — during the latter part of his career.

Comedian Chris Spencer is developing a multi-camera comedy at Fox that boasts LeBron James among its executive producers, Variety has learned.
The series is currently titled “I Just Do” and is inspired by Spencer’s comedy. It’s about an African-American family therapist and his loving and expressive Latina wife living beyond their means in an upper-middleclass neighborhood, where they are raising twin teenagers with the “help” of their intrusive parents.
Fox has given the project a script commitment with a penalty attached. Spencer will star in the series in addition to serving as a writer and co-executive producer. John Beck and Ron Hart will also write in addition to executive producing. James and Maverick Carter will executive produce via their SpringHill Entertainment banner. J.P. Director Uwe Boll has made a lot of terrible films in his career. I lot of people despise him, but he also has a loyal fan base that loves him. He’s definitely one of the wildest outspoken filmmakers out there that likes to say a lot of crazy things and he’s known for having meltdowns. He has no filter when he talks and some people admire that about him.
Boll is credited with directing 32 projects, produced over 50, has written 19 films. Some of these films include BloodRayne, Rampage: President Down, In the Name of the King: The Last Job, Suddenly, Assault on Wall Street, Blubberella, Far Cry, German Fried Movie, Attack on Darfur, Postal, The House of the Dead, and Alone in the Dark.

Uwe Boll, the controversial director responsible for Postal, Blubberella, BloodRayne, and Tara Reid playing a scientist, is one of the most prolific living directors of this century, having directed and self-produced 30 films in his short career. Still, he’ll always be remembered, according to this Vanity Fair profile, as “the Donald Trump of directors, a brutish bully inclined to lash out against his detractors.” Boll is notorious for having gone after his critics, the culmination of which was the event “Raging Boll,” during which the beefy auteur literally beat the shit out of his attackers in a boxing ring (a 17-year-old victim apparently pissed blood afterward).
It’s hard to feel anything but scorn for someone such as Boll, but Vanity Fair’s profile effectively peels back the layers, depicting a man who’s driven by intense artistic impulses despite not quite having the patience or tact to make ...

Video game movies have a bad reputation because, well, there are very few that we’d call “good.” At their best, at least so far, the big screen versions of video games have been fun and trashy entertainment. At their worst, however, they’re as bad as anything else we’ve ever seen in a movie theater. So let’s rank ‘em! 41. “Postal” (2008) The pinnacle of director Uwe Boll‘s string of horrendous video game movies (he has five that qualify for this list by getting theatrical releases somewhere), but to be fair it’s probably still a better work...

In a move that hardly makes a lick of sense from any perspective, Uwe Boll announced that he’s retiring from the world film.
Now, this is a strange turn of events for many reasons, but it takes on some new spins because what he said is –
The market is dead, you don’t make any money anymore on movies because the DVD and Blu Ray market worldwide has dropped 80 per cent in the last three years. That is the real reason; I just cannot afford to make movies. I can’t go back to student filmmaking because I have made so many movies in my life, and I can’t make cheaper and cheaper movies at my age. It’s a shame. I would be happy to make movies but it is just not financially profitable.

Postal Redux, a remastered version of Postal released in 1997 launches on PC on May 20, developer Running With Scissors has announced. The original – a 3D isometric shooter – sparked controversy 19 years ago for its violence and gore and centred around a player character who “goes postal” after being evicted from his home and embarks on a killing spree. Fun fact: the game is the inspiration for Uwe Boll’s film of the same name – considered to be one of the worst ever made.
Besides the high-definition treatment being given to the remaster, Running With Scissors says that this spruced up version will feature a new score-attack mode called Rampage, which aims to give players more replay value.
With the new powerful addition of Rampage, Postal fans will go wild. The outrageous single-player game play mode rewards an aggressive style of play by increasing a multiplier for each consecutive kill in a streak.

When the Motion Picture Association of America began enforcing the Hays Production Code in 1934, filmmakers were forbidden from tackling such topics as miscegenation, drug use, venereal disease or white slavery. Not only was it forbidden to ridicule the clergy, but the use of such “pointed profanity” as “hell”, “damn” and “gawd” was also prohibited.
With the abolition of the Code and relaxation of social attitudes in the mid-1960s, exploitation films flourished in America’s grindhouses and drive-ins. You could walk down Manhattan’s 42nd Street and discover films like The Female Butcher, I Drink Your Blood and The Corpse Grinders, whose titles alone would’ve been unthinkable a few years earlier.
Seeking an edge over “prestigious” studio pictures, exploitation filmmakers set out to make the films their competitors wouldn’t, and filled their movies with as much blood, nudity and violence as possible. Just like Jurassic Park’s scientists,...

The first game in the notoriously violent Postal series is getting a remake from the ground up this year, developer Runs With Scissors has confirmed. As is customary with our dear video industry, the new lick of paint comes with a new name; Postal Redux will release on PlayStation 4 and PC at some point this year – marking the first time the series has been available on consoles.
Unlike the more well-known sequel Postal 2, the first game is played from an overhead, isometric viewpoint as opposed to first-person like its successor. Runs With Scissors says that the remake will come with updated visuals, brand new content and reworked features to satisfy a modern-day audience. A new Rampage Mode will also be included, which tasks players with racking up a high score by means of killing as many people as possible. If that’s not enough to stir up controversy, we’ll eat our hats.

“Some movies go too far. Others start there.”
That’s the tagline for Uwe Boll’s Postal (2009), but it’s also a good definition of extreme horror, where everything is cranked up to 11 and the walls are usually painted crimson. You don’t find these films playing alongside summer blockbusters; they play festivals and arthouses, quietly acquiring a reputation while their pricier competitors fade from the audience’s memory.
The excessive levels of physical and sexual violence means that extreme horror is defiantly anti-Hollywood, but even so, a mainstream horror film will every so often still attempt to “go there”. The results always prove that Tinseltown should stick to superhero flicks.
Take Wes Craven’s The Last House On The Left (1972), for example. Whatever your opinion of the film, it has a raw energy all of its own and is one of the few exploitation films that can...

Did you know writer/director Uwe Boll directed around 30 movies in his careerc I didn't, and of those, the number of them I've seen I can count on one hand: 2007's In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale and 2009's Rampage. I didn't even know he made a sequel to the latter, let alone had not one but two different crowdfunding efforts to complete his violent trilogy with Rampage 3: No Mercy. Turns out I wasn't alone. Boll's most recent crowd-funding campaign on Kickstarter is still several thousands dollars away from his goal with only three days left (the Indigogo one before that fell $93,675 short of its $100,000 goal) and he's not very happy about it. Not in the slightest, and he's not afraid to call people out for not supporting his movie in two YouTube videos released yesterday. He cusses out both fans who didn't support this...

He's directed movies such as "BloodRayne," "Alone in the Dark," "Postal" and "Far Cry," but at this point, German director Uwe Boll will be best known for his latest productions: YouTube videos in which he slams Hollywood and freaks out about his failed crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for "Rampage 3," the third in the "Rampage" series. Read More: Determined to Get Final Cut, Abel Ferrara Turns to Kickstarter to Fund 'Siberia' With three days left to go, Boll's campaign has raised just over $26,000 of its $55,794 goal. Frustrated with the tepid response, the filmmaker told movie fans to "fuck yourselves." He also lashed out at Hollywood stars such as Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Robert Downey, Jr. who, he said, are "laughing" at low-income families who shell out money to see "Marvels Avengers bullshit dirt." This campaign is Boll's third failed attempt to reach his target goal for the.

Uwe Boll is very done with crowdsourcing to help fund his movies. In 2013, the Alone In The Dark and Bloodrayne director tried to get a sequel to Postal made through Kickstarter, but it was canceled the same year, and recently he's been trying to raise funds for Rampage 3. The project was originally being funded through Indiegogo, however he moved it to Kickstarter after not being able to build interest for... Read More...

Uwe Boll is totally over it. The German director, a.k.a. The King of Trash, posted a brief but jaw-dropping tirade on YouTube over the weekend — well, multiple tirades — in which he bashes everything from Kickstarter to Marvel to Harry Potter. It’s blunt. It’s harsh. It’s extremely entertaining. Take a look. This comes after Boll, who directed movies like the two Rampage films and Postal, failed multiple times to gain funding for Rampage 3 on crowdfunding sites. As The Hollywood Reporter notes, his run on Indiegogo raised a little more than $5,000 of his $80,000 goal, while his latest Kickstarter campaign only reached approximately $25,000. With only three days left in the campaign, Boll decided to vent his frustrations online. In a phrase that sums up the angst in the entire video, Boll says how he wants to make Rampage 3 because it& ...

German director Uwe Boll has posted an extraordinary anti-Hollywood rant on YouTube after failing to gain funding for his new film.
He reacted angrily to the news that his crowd-sourcing campaign for Rampage 3 had been unsuccessful, and ranted against movie goers, Marvel fans, George Clooney, Angelina Jolie and more in an almost five-minute video .
He said: "It's so pissing me off how fake that business is, but also how the young people of today falling in the f**king trap, because they're all stupid. Like wake the f**k up!
"Iron Man is not existing. Avengers are not existing. Because they are all f**king retarded idiots.
"And Robert Downey Jr. and all them people are idiots. Not idiots, they just grab the money. And they're laughing their asses off that the people pay money to that stupid, absurd s**t that they are shooting, like Captain America and all that completely crap.

With the likes of In the Name of The King: A Dungeon Siege Tale and Postal under his belt, you would never call Uwe Boll one of cinema’s greatest directors. But there is one person out there who thinks he deserves that title: Uwe Boll himself. A bit of context. Boll is currently wrapping up his Kickstarter campaign for Rampage 3: No Mercy, the second sequel to his 2009 mass murderer thriller (incidentally, one of his only movies get positive reviews). With three days to go, it’s not looking good with the $50,000 goal still a long way from being reached, and he is not happy. Taking to Youtube, he has a message for us all: “Fuck yourself”. And that’s not all. Over the course of two expletive filled videos, he goes on a rant targeting not only Kickstarter but also Hollywood, George Clooney, Jennifer Lopez, as well as the cinema going public.

I can now safely say it will be my lifelong dream to now see a movie about “some retarded wizard in the forest”. That was just one of the many great moments in this ironic outburst from notoriously awful director Uwe Boll (Blubberella, Postal, BloodRayne, Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead).
Boll is upset (you might say) about his ill attempt at a Kickstarter campaign for something called Rampage 3.
The video was accompanied by a message saying:
never will do crowdfunding again …. thanks to the few they supported rampage 3 -.-.—the rest can fuck their mothers incl. Kickstarter and all the idiots who talked me into bullshit like this
Promise?

Chicago – “No soup for you!” is one of the most memorable TV catchphrases of the 1990s, uttered into immortality by actor Larry Thomas on “Seinfeld,” who portrayed “The Soup Nazi.” Thomas was in the Chicago area recently to act in “Mind Over Mindy,” a new comedy from writer/director Robert Alaniz.
Larry Thomas was born in Brooklyn, and has been a working actor since the 1980s. He made his appearance on “Seinfeld” in 1996, and garnered an Emmy nomination for his Soup Nazi role, and he also appeared in the final episode of “Seinfeld.” Since then, he has continued to do character roles in TV and films such as “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery,” “Arrested Development,” “Scrubs,” a spoof called “Zero Dark Dirty” and Robert Alaniz’s previous film “You Don’t Say!”.

Any time you get the chance to write about Uwe Boll, you do it. This man is one of the most interesting filmmakers out there based upon his tarnished reputation and propensity to box film journalists who enjoy tearing his career apart, but even more flabbergasting is that Boll Has seen success. Most people just don’t pay attention to that. In 2009, a film called Rampage acted as a vessel for Boll’s political satire, giving an oddly respectable voice to the usually crude creator.
Since Rampage, Boll went on to direct another string of underwhelming efforts, but a new trailer released today suggests the auteur is ready to re-visit his most successful material for another go at corruption, class warfare, and governmental gripes. Yes, Rampage: Capital Punishment brings back Brendan Fletcher as the disgruntled Bill Williamson, suiting up once again to unite the typically unheard voices for a bit of rebellious outreaching.

They are currently available for pre-order. The Usps is only making 5 million books of the 20 stamp set, and they will officially be released November 19th. I've included more details below.

The Harry Potter films brought J.K. Rowling’s magical world to the screen, giving physical shape to the characters, creatures, and places that had lived in readers’ imaginations since publication of the first book. The U.S. Postal Service celebrates that magic with a 20-stamp souvenir booklet featuring stills from the award-winning Warner Bros. movies.
The folded booklet has five pages. The front cover features the title Harry Potter, with an image of Harry playing Quidditch,...

Movies based upon video games have a fairly wretched reputation, and many people place the blame on just one person: Uwe Boll. His cinematic adaptations of House of the Dead, BloodRayne, Alone in the Dark, and Far Cry are all universally reviled, though the one movie that is often cited as being absolute garbage is Postal.
Today might either be the most appropriate or inappropriate day, given that the nation is reflecting upon the events of September 11, 2001. The opening sequence of Postal depicts the hijacking of one of the planes that would be driven into World Trade Center, but in "comedic" fashion.
Well, guess what: Boll wants to do sequel, but it'll only happen if you lend a hand. And you do want to give him your support, don't you?
Boll has turned to, what else, Kickstarter to make his dream happen. Here we have a recent video for his campaign,...

Last week’s column, about the apparent suicidal impulses of the Us Postal Service, advanced what I hope is a baseless and purely paranoiac thesis: Because Ups, FedEx, and their ilk don’t cover every form of deliverable and are prohibitively expensive for many small-business shippers, we are in urgent need of alternative low-cost means for shipping parcels and other three-dimensional objects that can’t – or won’t – be deliverable to us in electronic form any time soon. That’s because the P.O.’s collapse might happen faster than we can create the infrastructure necessary to take up the (very minor) slack.
That would be a Geek Apocalypse. Some momzer with an encyclopedic memory of The Overstreet Guide won’t be able to profitably ship you that copy of Tales To Astonish #12 you bid too much for. And your ability to receive items like priceless Mr. Terrific maquettes, or...
