When Dargis is talking to Liz in the kitchen, he is wearing a brown suit. He then leaves the kitchen in pursuit of Garfield, and the next scene shows him in a black jacket and gray pants. There was no time to change clothes.
Carlisle is spelt both CARLISLE (on the map) and CARLYLE (on street names and such).
After John tells Garfield that he is going to ask Liz to marry him, Garfield knocks Liz's picture to the ground and we hear glass break. In the next shot, we see Liz's picture on the table, and the glass is not broken.
When the parrot lands on the table at the end of the movie, he is by three empty Coke cans. In the next shot he is still on the table, but there are no Coke cans, and something else instead.
When Garfield first walks into Carlyle Castle, the pattern on the tiled floor is black diamonds with white stripes. In the next shot, when Garfield is yelling, "Mom, Dad, I'm home," the pattern on the tiled floor changes.
All of the barn animals are eating lasagna. Most of them are cows, ducks and geese. These animals are vegetarian, and lasagna has meat in it.
When Garfield is using the TV remote at the hotel, it is backwards, pointed at him, not the TV.
When Jon and Odie first find the lookalike cat, the scene ends with a camera pan that reveals signs for Silvano's Restaurant and Woodsmill Quay. This indicates that the scene, set in London, was actually shot 200 miles away in York.
The vehicles of Carlisle Castle have the license plates CARLYLE 1, CARLYLE 2, etc. The UK Cherished Registration system doesn't not allow for either an 8 character plate or for 8 letters in a row. Even Queen Elizabeth's license plates have to conform to the rules.
The green-headed mallard duck speaks with a female voice. Only male mallard ducks have green heads, the females have brown heads.
When Rommel is chasing Dargis after the animals fire the clay
launcher at him, Dargis falls to the ground and looks behind him. As Rommel comes bounding around the corner, there are three people visible next to a stone sculpture. The camera switches to Dargis, and when the camera goes back to Rodney, the people are gone.
When Jon is driving to the castle to find Garfield, he's driving on the wrong side of the road. In the UK they drive on the left side. Jon was on the right side.
When Dargis throws Prince in to the water, a milestone says that Carlisle Castle is 40 miles from London. The actual Carlisle Castle is almost 340 miles to London and Castle Howard where the scene was filmed is 240 miles from London. It would be impossible to float from either location to the London sewer system. Since the UK uses the metric system, the sign should've said 64 kilometers.
The castle tour guide states that the portraits of the past owners are painted by the Dutch master Anthony Van Dyck. Van Dyck was born in Antwerp, Flanders (in Belgium, not Holland) and thus was a Flemish baroque master painter.
