Lisaraye and Da Brat are real life sisters
Monica Calhoun and LisaRay McCoy also starred together in the Players Club (1998).
Although Monica Calhoun and LisaRaye McCoy play friends in this movie they play cousins in the players club.
Originally set to shoot for 25 days in Nashville. After the 14th day, production was closed down because Lionsgate bought Trimark and Mandalay Picture so the film was bought in the merger. They waited a year and a half to film the last five days they had left but it never happened, but were given one day to finish the film. Within the one day, they seemed to have created the Sabrina (Da Brat) character to shape to structure of the film.
LisaRaye and Monica Calhoun also starred in Gang of Roses (2003).
