Nobody Wants This is the almost saccharine sitcom we’ve all been waiting for. Well, at least I have. A little while ago Netflix gave us One Day, a revolutionary romance show, if you ask me, because in the social media age, it’s hard to find something that gets so much positive reception from both critics and the people. Now, I do think Nobody Wants This will garner divided opinions, specifically because it’s quite a rollercoaster, but for the most part, if you like good chemistry and actually fun dialogue, then this show is going to leave you thrilled. They say opposites attract, but when the opposites are a Jewish rabbi and an agnostic sex podcaster, it’s hard for anyone to believe it’s possible. The show was created by Erin Foster, who took notes from her own life experiences finding love with a Jewish partner, and I’ve got to say,...

Travis Kelce is revealing his guilty pleasure show.
On Wednesday’s episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end admitted he was a fan of Gossip Girl growing up.
Toward the end of the conversation, the brothers fielded questions from fans, one of which asked what guilty pleasure show they watched that they were “embarrassed to admit.”
“Embarrassed to admit? I don’t care. You can judge me, dude. It is what it is,” Travis said, before adding, “I used to not tell everybody that I watched Gossip Girl growing up.” Jason replied, “You watched Gossip Girl? You should be embarrassed.”
“It’s so good though,” Travis noted. “Dude, if you watched it, you could get in deep.” Jason then asked, “Are you talking about Gilmore Girls? What show is Gossip Girl?”

Nobody Wants This is a rom-com without a magical meet cute. It’s about what happens when two grown-ups meet and are challenged by each other and attracted to each other and know what they want. A lot of the genre is “built on the premise of a big misunderstanding and then you run that as long as you can get away with it,” says co-star Adam Brody. , “they know each other, they quickly fall into bed together, and then it’s more of the day-to-day and reality of the situation.”
Brody knows from rom-coms: The California-born actor perfected the archetype of the sweet, nerdy, teenage boyfriend in his early acting roles on Gilmore Girls and The O.C. In the subsequent decades, Brody’s résumé has been decidedly more eclectic — but his career choices have never been calculated. So while he followed up Seth Cohen with a devil-worshiping rock star...

It feels like it's just a matter of time before Eric Kripke's popular Prime Video show "The Boys" turns into a full-blown "Supernatural" cast reunion. Jensen Ackles, star of the latter long-running CW show (also created by Kripke), has already been featured on the cynical superhero drama, playing the season 3 character Soldier Boy. Now, Ackles' co-star Jared Padalecki is officially on board for season 5. The news of the Sam Winchester actor's casting came just a month after Kripke spoke about wanting him on the show, telling Variety in May that "I feel like I have to complete my game of 'Supernatural' Pokémon and I have my one big one — very big one — left to catch."
Fortunately for fans, Padalecki was into the idea. He said as much in an interview with Collider a month earlier, but in the process, he also revealed that he had a certain...

Does Sophia Bush think the One Tree Hill reboot is still happening? After information about it has been leaked, fans wonder why theres still no sign of the iconic TV show’s return.
Fans Demand The Return Of One Tree Hill
One of the most beloved TV shows of the early 2000s, One Tree Hill is an American teen drama that revolves around half-brothers, Nathan and Lucas Scott. Despite having the same father, the two believe they couldn’t be more different from one another as they live completely different lives.
The two switch back and forth from acting like brothers to acting like enemies. Not by choice, their worlds collide both on the basketball court and friend group. The series watches them and their friends grow up from high school through college.
The series stars Chad Michael Murray as Lucas. Murray is best known for A Cinderella Story and Gilmore Girls.

Netflix released its semi-annual data dump on Thursday, unveiling viewership for the streamer’s biggest hits — and not so big releases — from January through June of 2024.
While the most-watched seasons of TV during the six-month interval included “Fool Me Once,” “Bridgerton” Season 3, “Baby Reindeer” and “The Gentlemen,” a group of winners have arisen from the data dump, including children’s TV as a whole — including “Peppa Pig” — “Young Sheldon” and buzzy crime docs like “Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal.”
As the streamer continues to bolster its live event programming, the success of “The Roast of Tom Brady” followed in the footsteps of “Chris Rock: Selective Outrage” as it found an eager audience, whereas the first-ever livestream of the SAG-AFTRA Awards earlier this year didn’t do much for Netflix, viewership-wise.
For the full breakdown of the biggest TV-centric revelations from Netflix’s data dump for the first half of 2024, see below.

Kelly Bishop — born Carole Bishop, but forced to change her stage name early on due to 1970s-era SAG rules about members not sharing the same names — has lived a long and interesting life. In addition to playing Baby’s mom on Dirty Dancing, as well as a small role in one of my favorite book adaptations, Wonder Boys, starring Michael Douglas and Tobey Maguire, she is now most well-known for playing the complex, high-society matriarch Emily Gilmore on the hit show Gilmore Girls. And she has no problem with that; in addition to titling her just-released memoir The Third Gilmore Girl, she is a big fan of the show herself. “I watched every episode of Gilmore Girls from the very beginning, whether I was in them or not,” she writes in The Third Gilmore Girl, which is out on shelves today. “I can honestly say I was one of the show’s biggest fans.

Throughout the majority of her career in the entertainment industry, beginning with her Broadway debut in 1975, Kelly Bishop was not interested in being in the public eye. The dancer turned actress, best known for her roles in A Chorus Line, Dirty Dancing, and Gilmore Girls, had a passion for the arts and wanted to be a working actress for as long as Hollywood would have her. Even now, at the age of 80, she wants to continue taking on new roles. But all the while, she wanted her private life to remain just that.

Jenji Kohan wants TV writers to ditch dystopian stories in favor of ones that lean into a ‘protopia’ and serve up a more positive vision of the world and where we’re headed. The writer was also quizzed about whether she liked the notion of sequel to her show Weeds. It’s safe to say she does not want to light up a follow-up to her pot-dealing drama, which ran for eight seasons on Showtime.
Kohan gave a wide-ranging masterclass to a room of writers and drama execs at Seriesly, and duly delivered one of the highlights of the newbie TV event in Berlin. She wrote on shows including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Gilmore Girls, Sex and the City and the first season of Friends. There were a lot of issues with The Bear being snubbed in the Best Comedy Series category at the Emmys, but the biggest one is why the show was put in the category at all. A show that is beloved for the drama it brings to the lives of its characters, there is a lot of speculation as to why the show was put in the comedy category at all.
The Bear || Credit: FX
Fans have been waiting for an answer, given that The Bear lost out to Hacks during the Emmys. There are many who believe that The Bear was in the wrong category all along, and there seems to be a reason why. Despite its focus on the more serious aspects of the restaurant business, the comedy nomination of the show might have more to do with how it’s billed than the actual content of the show.

No one likes going to the doctor, but for some reason, a lot of us can't seem to get enough of watching fake doctors on TV. Medical drama series have been popular on the small screen for what feels like forever, and whether these procedurals are following the high-pressured jobs of doctors, nurses, paramedics, or any essential worker, there's an audience ready and waiting to tune in.
In August 2024, Netflix released its Spanish medical drama series Breathless (also known as Respira) from the creators of the now-ended teen thriller Elite. The series centers on a public hospital in Valencia that experiences changes when a public figure seeks treatment. Breathless stars Blanca Suárez, Manu Rios, Najwa Nimri, Alfonso Bassave, and more talented actors in the ensemble cast.
Like most medical drama series, Breathless doesn't solely focus on the heart-pounding and sometimes downright bone-chilling life-or-death situations that happen in a hospital. There's also romance,...

It’s a debate that has existed in Gilmore Girls rewatch circles for ages: which of Rory’s (Alexis Bledel) boyfriends is the best? Some fans will be vindicated (and others sorely disappointed) at the cheeky answer provided by none other than Kelly Bishop, who portrays the formidable, often hilarious and definitely haughty old-money matriarch Emily, grandmother to Rory.

Original stars Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton are set to executive produce and reprise their roles of Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer, respectively, in the sequel series from writer/executive producer Becky Hartman Edwards and Warner Bros. TV, which is currently in development at the streamer, sources reveal to Deadline. Jensen Ackles and Danneel Ackles also executive produce through their Chaos Machine banner with the latter in talks to return as Rachel Scott.
Created by Mark Schwahn, One Tree Hill premiered in 2003 and ran for 9 seasons on The WB network and its successor the CW. Melissa McCarthy started her career doing improvisational comedy at The Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles, which is also where she met her husband Ben Falcone. She then went on to a successful run on the TV series “Gilmore Girls” for seven seasons. She followed that up with other TV shows and small movie roles but it would be a return to The Groundlings crew that would launch her into super-stardom. Her former castmates Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo wrote a female gross-out comedy called “Bridesmaids” and cast McCarthy along with other Groundlings veterans Maya Rudolph and Wendi McLendon-Covey. The film would become a surprise hit in the genre which was usually dominated by men and even earn McCarthy an Oscar nomination as Best Supporting Actress.

Sure, there are unlikable characters, evil and irredeemable characters, and controversial characters…
And then there are characters so badly written you must assume it’s done simply out of spite. Did something behind the scenes turn the writing room against the actor?
(Netflix)
Or, in the case of some of our picks, did the writers use the character as a scapegoat for all they hated about the world? Compiling this list was challenging because some annoying characters on TV were written that way for a purpose.
We can usually explain away a lot when a character disappoints us, but the TV characters who made our list took things too far. Sadly, it wasn’t their fault; it was the writing Gods manipulating them. Let’s consider 11 characters the writers must have hated.

"Barney Miller" may not be one of the most talked-about sitcoms of the '70s these days, but perhaps it should be. The NYPD-set show was in some ways the "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" of its time, a socially conscious, funny series that set its action squarely in the precinct where members of the public came to ask the authorities for help -- or get arrested by them.
Like most shows about cops, it has its inherent biases, and some parts of the show have aged poorly. But "Barney Miller" is also surprisingly progressive at times. As TV historian Matt Baume writes in his queer sitcom history "Hi Honey, I'm Homo," the show broke new ground for gay characters on TV, facing off against network censors to portray New York's Greenwich Village neighborhood (post-Stonewall!) with authenticity and diversity.
Only two seasons of "Barney Miller" are currently available to rent digitally in the U.

Few people know the highs and lows of fandom experience quite like fans of "The X-Files." One of the hottest shows of the '90s was also one of the messiest, featuring retconned central mythology, a sizzling will-they-won't-they relationship that culminated mostly in vaguely implied hookups, and way too many Mulder-less latter season episodes. The show also features a surprisingly complicated release order, with two movies, a revival series, and one spinoffs.
When "The X-Files" fans reminisce about the show, they typically seem to be talking about the seven seasons that ran between 1993 and 2000, when David Duchovny's Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson's Dana Scully were on the hunt for aliens, monsters, and cigarette-smoking men week after week. But while it might be easier to cordon off the "simpler times" section of the show and call it canon, the fact remains that the official "X-Files" story doesn't end...

In 1959, New York Times critic Brooks Atkinson heralded the arrival of a new musical comedy star in Once Upon a Mattress, a retelling of Hans Christian Anderson’s “The Princess and the Pea.” Carol Burnett, he wrote, has “a metallic voice, an ironic gleam, and an unfailing sense of the comic gesture” as she “discharges” the music “as though she were firing a field mortar.” Meanwhile, her co-star, Joe Bova, as Prince Dauntless the Drab, only received mention from Atkinson as one of several “winning young people” backing up Burnett.
Dauntless has always seemed a supporting part, inevitably overshadowed by Princess Winnifred the Woebegone, one of musical theater’s most boisterous, irrepressible heroines. But Michael Urie, playing Dauntless in the new Broadway revival of Once Upon a Mattress, a transfer of the Encores! production that opened in January for a two-week run at New York City Center, reveals that this...

Jared Padalecki has already found his next TV project.
The former “Walker” star has been cast in a guest arc for the upcoming third season of CBS’s “Fire Country,” TheWrap has learned. The appearance will be a three-episode stint with backdoor potential to spin off into a new series led by Padalecki.
He will play Camden, “a SoCal firefighter and maverick with a surfer swagger who is a force to be reckoned with and immediately recognizes Bode’s (Max Thieriot) raw talent.”
Should the actor’s guest spot blossom into a new series, it would mark the third in the franchise. Morena Baccarin’s “Sheriff Country” — which also launched out of an episode in the main series — is slated to premiere in the 2025-26 season.

Some people think acting is a kind of a breeze, but not many realize the real struggles that happen behind the scenes. Actors even feel the pressure when they’re off camera, especially when they’ve got to show up on set on time and suddenly memorize a scene at the last minute.

Most Gilmore Girls fans agree that Luke Danes and Lorelai Gilmore were the endgame couple of the series. Fans waited patiently for the couple to end up together for seven seasons. While we largely agree that Lorelai and Luke are good together, not every second of their relationship was kind and loving. We’ve collected three examples of when Luke Danes was unjustifiably mean to Lorelai Gilmore.
Luke left Lorelai at her parents’ vow renewal ceremony
Luke and Lorelai had plenty of tiffs during their friendship, but their first major issue as a couple came in season 5 of Gilmore Girls. When the couple goes to Richard and Emily Gilmore’s vow renewal ceremony together, Luke is shocked to find out Emily told Christopher Hayden to try and win Lorelai back.

Gilmore Girls fans last saw a new episode of the beloved series in 2016. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, the Netflix revival, ended on a massive cliffhanger. Since then, fans have taken to social media to debate who the father of Rory Gilmore’s baby is and what her life might look like now. Lauren Graham, the actor who took on the role of Lorelai Gilmore, Rory’s mother, has been thinking about it, too. Graham even has a name picked out for Rory Gilmore’s baby.

We know that Supernatural is one of the most popular fantasy series of all time and that it is now considered to be a cult classic among genre fans. And really, Kripke’s show managed to do something that not many shows were able to do, and we can only praise the overall quality of the series.
Of course, a lot of the series’ success has to be attributed to its stars, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who played Sam and Dean Winchester, respectively, two brothers who chased and fought various supernatural threats. It made stars out of the principal actors and years after the finale, fans are still demanding more.
And while we have recently reported on Padalecki in the context of his The Boys cameo, where he would team up with Ackles’ Soldier Boy in some way, it seems that the actor is teasing another reunion with his Supernatural co-star,...

Joe Egan, who co-founded Stealers Wheel with Gerry Rafferty and co-wrote and sang on the enduring hit “Stuck in the Middle with You,” died July 6. He was 77. The news was shared on the late Rafferty’s official Facebook page, but no details were provided.
“Very sad news that the other half of Stealers Wheel, Joe Egan, passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon with his nearest and dearest around him,” read the post on the page run by Rafferty’s daughter, Martha. “I will always remember him as a sweet and gentle soul. May he rest in peace.”
Egan — who originally dreamed of soccer stardom — and Rafferty met as teenagers at St. Mirin’s Academy in their hometown of Paisley, Scotland, and formed Stealers Wheel in the early 1970s. Their first two singles stiffed, but the third would become a rock and pop standard.
