    Actually, I quite liked it...

I have to admit, the only reason is an interview Courtney Thorne-Smith gave back in '98 on the Conan show (plugging this film) during which she had the misfortune to have Norm MacDonald as the preceding guest. He proceeded to excoriate this film, Carrot Top, and, by implication, the film industry, modern civilization, and the nature of existence itself with admirable aplomb. See here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lL0WayC7jW0

It's funnier than the film. MacDonald is incredible. He actually got me to watch a Carrot Top movie based on his sight-unseen opinion of the film.

Courtney: "It's like 9 1/2 Weeks, but Carrot Top."

Norm: "So, it's like 9 1/2 Seconds?" (long pause) "'Cause he prematurely ejaculated."

    Seriously, watch the interview.

    More plot holes than comedy.

The only interesting thing about this movie is that almost everyone who has a speaking role was in an episode of Seinfeld. The plot is that he needs to get the rent money and then they just forget that. He's an inventor who inherits a multi-million dollar manufacturing company and never thinks to make any of his great inventions. Just like in every "comedy", there's the completely useless love story that does nothing but add 20 minutes to an already unbearable movie. This movie is somehow less funny than Carrot Top's stand up comedy which is a miracle. If you want to try to remember all the bit characters from Seinfeld, this could be watchable. If you want to be entertained, run away.

Yes. Carrot top is in this film. Thanks to Norm Macdonald for a heads up on this one though. Sorry to Courtney Thorne Smith for being on this.

So bad I can't watch it all the way through

There are many mysteries in life. For example: Why did any of the people other than Carrot Top agree to appear in this movie? Why did anyone distribute this movie? Why did anyone pay money to see it? I guess none of these questions will ever be answered, but one thing I know for sure, this movie is one of the worst ever made with a budget this big. It would already be bad, but the addition of Carrot Top's "humor" makes it even worse. The only entertainment one could possibly get from this movie is to burn it, smash it, or otherwise destroy it in an amusing fashion. If you were to rank it against every movie ever made, it would be right between "Problem Child" and "Biodome". Nuff said.

Norm called it. This movie was boring and cringey. How did this get then greenlight?

    • Trivia
Courtney Thorne-Smith recently has admitted that the film is "not a project that is of great pride" for her. After filming, she hoped the film would just "fade away", but she was contractually obligated to promote it. She said she "was so happy" when Norm MacDonald hijacked the Conan interview and started roasting the film because she didn't have much to say about it herself anyway. She did not have a great experience making the film. The only reason why she did the film was she really wanted to do comedy after doing 5 years of drama on "Melrose Place". To this day, Courtney has never seen the film.

When in the museum, Natalie indicates a picture of Jethro Tull, the inventor of the seed drill, though the picture shown is actually one of Nikola Tesla, inventor of AC current technology and electrical engineer.

Ty: And your grandmother bought ten of them.

Edison: I thought you guys liked my inventions.

Ty: We love them, the problem is the rest of the world doesn't.
