The main characters' names "Hannah" and "Annie" are etymologically the same name.

The fictional Harbour building in real life is called Anchorage Point. Apartment number 80 is the penthouse duplex on the top floor once rented by ex TV entertainment celebrity Michael Barrymore.
Contrary to popular belief, Lynda Steadman (who plays Annie) is not related to Alison Steadman (who at the time of filming was married to this films director Mike Leigh). The surname is just a coincidence.
