This movie depicts the emotions between an aging grandfather & a very caring young grandson. The young boy is the most understanding one in the family of his grandfather's feelings & in practical ways shows the most concern for him. A very tender, thought-provoking drama.
I saw this movie many years ago, and I can not forget it , I have been looking for it for years, is there anyway I can see this movie again??? Please email me if you can! Where Pigeons go to Die!!!!!! Thank You for such for such a memorable movie! I was much younger when I saw this but made such an impression on me, I wish more people would treat the elderly or for that fact anyone as beautiful as it was done in this movie. I told my sister and many friends about this movie, no one look in right place to find, I remembered it said a Michael Landon Production,so I finally looked it up. I still wish I could view this such special movie again! Thank You Suzanne
This movie deeply touched my heart - if you have ever had a relationship with a loving Grandparent this truly brings out the love between grandparent and grandchild. If you have never had the experience this movie truly brings you close to one. Also makes you appreciate life to its fullest for even the simple things.

Yes Michael Landon does another Great lead role along with another faithful role.Like he fulfills as Charles Engles a.k.a. " "Pa." Engles." on Little House on The Prairie and the following year when another of his TV-movies would come out called "Us." Also of which suitably as the narrator would tell is his last gift to us.
Next onward to "Where pigeons go to die."The Abandoned house got to be a haven for all pigeons to come to and whether or not to go to die?
It was very cute to see all of those pigeons come there to be seen on each floor and like it's a gigantic birdcage So Naturally when The Highway Commission would come Hugh opposed having them take it down and naturally got his request granted and so by the end of the film and even without giving too much away as you'll see that structure of which the pigeons would come to was still there and a tourist's sight for the Passerbys who'd drive on that very Interstate Highway.
Faithfully, Stephen "Steve" G. Baer a.k.a. "Ste" of Framingham,Ma.USA.

I saw this movie on TV many years ago and had the good fortune to record it on VHS tape. This is one of my all time favorite movies ... no violence, drugs, or murder .... just a plain and simple family movie about the special relationship between a boy and his grandfather. The scene in which the boy's father shaves his own Dad is so moving. I can relate to that on a personal level, having the privilege of doing the same for my Dad following a stroke so many years ago. If you get emotional at movies, this may be one for you. A definite rainy Sunday afternoon movie curled under the blanket with a box of tissues in reserve. I have no idea why this hasn't been released on DVD before now.
This wonderful movie shows what it is like to have the best grandparent/s in the world. My grandmother was as special as the grandfather in this movie. While watching this movie my memories of my grandmother all came flooding back as if they happened yesterday. Michael Landon showed us that even when a wonderful grandparent has passed away, it is the grandchildren's memories of love and laughter that will keep grandparent's alive forever. Thanks Michael Landon for yet another excellent movie.
