Scout Comics recently launched Black Caravan, its new horror imprint, and it's already announced multiple projects, including Swamp Dogs! The 5-issue miniseries promises a unique blend of genres that should make any classic horror fan happy, and if the new cover art from Robert Sammelin is any indication, we're in for something special with this series!
"Black Caravan, the horror imprint of Scout Comics, has finally unleashed the Swamp Dogs on the world-- and the world will never be the same again. The mystery campaign is over, and the cover of Issue 1, by Robert Sammelin, has been revealed. “This might be the greatest comic book cover I’ve ever seen. And it’s only fitting, given how kick ass the comic book is,” said Rich Woodall, co-publisher of Black Caravan.

Sophie Jones, the creation from co-writing cousins Jessica and Jessie Barr, excels when focused on the eponymous high schooler’s detachment from friends and family. Exploring the grief and loss associated with losing a parent––in this case, Sophie’s mother––Sophie Jones is the result of multiple stories stemming from the Barr cousins. With Jessica playing the title role and Jessie directing, the film draws from their experiences, as both lost a parent when they were 16 years old.
The movie exudes a naturalness in the scenes between Sophie and her friends, as well as those featuring Sophie and her love interests. At the story’s beginning, she’s a drama kid, a virgin, an older sister, and a protector of her mom’s legacy––more than all of these, however, she’s just a teenager. As a junior in high school, she’s still figuring out how to deal with overwhelming amounts of grief.

Stephen Curry and Jackson Tozer have been cast in a black comedy short set to shoot in Melbourne during March.
Billed as a mix of Weekend at Bernies and Reservoir Dogs, Hatchback will feature Curry as Vince, a wannabe cleaner for the mob, whose assistant Ted (Tozer) is making his debut in the line of work.
The film was written by Chloe Graham and Riley Sugars (Rabbits), who also serve as producers alongside the LA-based John Grosland and Charlotte De Pedro.
Sugars, who is set to direct the film, told If he was able to attach Curry after making himself known to the actor at the Peninsula and Stellar short film festivals last year.
“I was so excited to meet him at Peninsula early last year that I completely forgot to get his email address, so when I saw him again at Stellar, it was the first thing I asked for,...

If you’ve missed out on some of the best exclusives PlayStation 4 has to offer, Sony’s latest sale promotion could be just the one for you.
Kicking off yesterday and scheduled to run for two weeks until September 16th, this so-called Essential Picks includes a ton of games from almost every notable publisher and developer under the sun, including Naughty Dog. Indeed, despite being little more than a few months old, the studio’s latest release – The Last of Us Part 2 – is included in the sale, albeit with a smaller discount than older titles. Even so, a 16% saving on one of this year’s biggest releases is nothing to scoff at, and there’s plenty of other digital adventures up for grabs for a fraction of their usual asking price if Joel and Ellie’s second outing in post-apocalyptic America isn’t your jam.
Check out the list below...

A dog that removes anxiety from its human’s life by killing the people who cause her stress may be a heightened, fantastical look at emotional-support animals, but because there is now such a wide range of small-screen content depicting such therapeutic resources, one does not have to represent all. Education about them is mixing with entertainment.
A killer emotional-support dog is at the center of Blumhouse Television’s latest “Into the Dark” installment for Hulu, “Good Boy.” But even this horror satire may expose an audience to the idea of emotional-support dogs for the first time. That is why, according to Sheila Goffe, vice president of government relations, American Kennel Club, no matter the genre or format, the most important thing when depicting such dogs is to do so accurately for their classification.
“These dogs mitigate individual disabilities, and they’re simply amazing,” she says. “A dog that helps...

Roger Waters will release physical versions of his concert film Us + Them and its soundtrack this fall.
For now, he’s releasing a clip showcasing a suite of songs from Pink Floyd’s The Wall album, starting with a helicopter spotlight surveying the crowd during “The Happiest Days of Our Lives.” Children stand at the front of the stage dressed in orange jumpsuits and executioner masks like prisoners, and the lights go up for the transition into “Another Brick in the Wall Part 2.” About halfway through, the kids remove their...

Finnish director Jukka-Pekka Valkeapää ensured that his new film was torture for his actors – literally. But he insists his immersive methods are just like gardening
Bdsm is – perhaps surprisingly – big news in Palm Springs, southern California. The director Jukka-Pekka Valkeapää, showing his new, fetish-themed, third feature, Dogs Don’t Wear Pants, at a festival in the city, was confronted with a crowd of incredulous pensioners. “There was a question: is this Bdsm thing real? Is it invented?” he says, chuckling. One shocked septuagenarian collared him after the screening to inquire after the mental health of the film’s hero: a widower who, after losing his wife in a drowning accident, tumbles headlong into the S&m scene. “She was saying: ‘No, he’s gone crazy. He’s totally lost it,’” says Valkeapää, hooting with laughter. He simmers down. “It’s not a very noble thing to achieve, disturbing old ladies.”

Though Jan Komasa’s “Corpus Christi” was a dark horse in the best international feature film category at this year’s Academy Awards, it should have come as no surprise to see a Polish director walking the red carpet outside the Dolby Theatre on Feb. 9. “Corpus Christi” was the country’s third Oscar nomination in the past six years for what was formerly known as the foreign-language film, joining Paweł Pawlikowski’s 2019 nominee “Cold War” and Pawlikowski’s 2015 winner “Ida.”
If these are heady times for the Polish film industry, however, the international kudos only tell part of the story. Poland continued its torrid stretch at the box office in 2019, as Europe’s sixth-largest theatrical market broke records for the sixth year running, with total box office and admissions hitting all-time highs.

Roger Waters would like to see a new resistance movement sweep America.
At a Q&a after a screening of his concert film, Us + Them, in New York on Tuesday night, the artist compared the way he saw younger people take to the themes of humanism in his concert abroad and stateside. When the moderator, BMG’s John Loeffler, said, “I was equally moved [in the film] just to see kids all over the world getting the message that they’re not alone,” Waters explained that he’d like to see Americans more upset by the government.

Wladyslaw Pasikowski (Psy, Psy 2, screenwriter for Katyn) is undoubtedly one of the most interesting Polish directors working today. This year he shocked the world with a downright controversial Poklosie, which was meant to unveil the atrocious part of Poland's turbulent past. His latest venture into the country's history will be a thriller based on a true story of Colonel Ryszard Kuklinski (played by Marcin Dorocinski), who tried to do the impossible and stop the Soviets all by himself during the Cold War. This riveting tale of heroism is hailed by many as one of the most fascinating spy stories of the modern world. Here's the synopsis:a spy thriller telling a historically based story of a man who alone dares to challenge Soviets being in the middle...
