- It happened many years ago in a world called Windaria. The peaceful life of two kingdoms was struck by a bloody war, inflamed by human greed and thirst for power... The mighty ruler of the kingdom of Paro had long nurtured the sneaky plans to take over the kingdom of Isa. Until recently, the wise ruler Isa skillfully restrained the aggression of her neighbor. However, the monarchs did not suspect that their heirs, the brave Prince Jill and the beautiful Princess Ahanas, had long been crazy about each other. The lovers realized that dreams of happiness would not come true if their nations joined the war. Eventually, the children of the rulers will become implacable enemies, and their love will turn into a tragedy. In this fateful hour for the whole of Windaria, Jilla and Ahanas can only count on the help of a brave farmer - Izu, who can become a secret messenger of the warring parties.
- Two couples of young people in love with each other find themselves embroiled in a war between two rival kingdoms. Based on ancient technology but with a dazzling capital city, Isa, and militaristic, aggressive Paro. Izu and his young wife Marin are simple farmers who live in the modest settlement of Saki, which lies in the forests directly between Isa and Paro. Although the village of Saki does not have the beauty of Isa or Paro's war machines, it does possess a magnificent giant tree known as "Windaria" to which the inhabitants pray. When the war breaks out, disappointed with his life, Izu decides to join Paro's army, fascinated by the fantastic flying motorcycle given to him. Before he leaves, he and his wife make an oath under the branches of Windaria: He will definitely come back to her, and until he does, she will wait for him. The second pair are Jill - Prince Paro and Ahanas - Princess Isa. Initially, they don't want anything to do with the rapidly escalating conflict, but after Jill's father, King Paro, is killed by Jill's hand in an argument over war, Jill has no choice but to fulfill her father's last wish: to conquer Isa. A brutal war will sweep through the Saki forests, where the Paro army's tanks and machine guns will meet the forest demons, and the flying boats, the Isa machines armed with black and powder guns will go against Paro's propeller fighters. No one will escape their fate, and glory will drown in blood ... And only a ghostly steel ship cruising at the edge of space will, as always, be waiting for new passengers - the souls of dead people ...
