Listening to Louis Tomlinson’s solo debut, Walls, is a bit like hanging out with the high school quarterback who stayed in his hometown after the rest of his class moved away. It wistfully brings to mind One Direction’s glory days, grown faded around the edges by time. The quarterback is still charming, his tales still rousing, but you kind of hope maybe, next year, he’ll move on — he’s certainly talented enough to do so.
It’s hard stepping out of the boy band formula, for sure.

Chevel Shepherd won “The Voice” on Tuesday in one of the biggest upset in the show’s 15 seasons. We asked viewers what they thought of this win by Kelly Clarkson‘s last remaining artist in the competition. While 25% were thrilled that this teen talent took home the trophy, a whopping 75% thought this was the wrong result and wanted one of the other three acts to win.
Fourth place finisher Kennedy Holmes got more than one-third of the votes in our overnight poll. She was the lone act in the final for Jennifer Hudson. For Hudson, it was a win to even get an artist into the Top 4 after she missed out on a place in the final in her debut season last year.

Denton’s take: Kennedy Holmes from Team Jennifer is closing out Round One tonight with her original song, “Love is Free.” It’s a mid-tempo jam that packs a punch and I’m happy it’s not a ballad.

After months of competition, we’re already at the finale stage for “The Voice” Season 15. The Top 4 artists will be performing three songs each on the two-hour episode for Monday. The American public will then vote, with the champion announced on the results show for Tuesday.
If Chevel Shepherd wins, it will give coach Kelly Clarkson a second straight victory. If Kennedy Holmes wins, it means a first ever U.S. championship for coach Jennifer Hudson, although she has won in Great Britain. And a trophy for either Kirk Jay or Chris Kroeze means a seventh career victory for coach Blake Shelton. Coach Adam Levine does not have contenders remaining for this autumn cycle.

The last character poster for the anticipated forthcoming release highlighted the mischievous villain Dr. Hector Hammond, and now we have yet another poster for one of our heroes from the Green Lantern Corps. The official Facebook page for Green Lantern (via ComingSoon) has just released another character poster with Abin Sur wielding the power of his ring. Once the Green Lantern of Sector 2814 (which contains the planet Earth), Abin Sur passes his ring along to Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) upon his death, enabling the pilot to take up the emerald mantle. Unless Blake Lively gets her own poster, this'll be the last. Here's Abin Sur on a new Green Lantern poster: Green Lantern is directed by veteran New Zealand filmmaker Martin Campbell, of Defenseless, GoldenEye, The Mask of Zorro, Vertical Limit, Casino Royale and Edge of Darkness previously. The script was written by Greg Berlanti ("Everwood", "Eli ...

We've highlighted our hero and several of his alien Green Lantern Corps. counterparts with their own posters and even an epic banner, but now the villain of Green Lantern gets his own poster too. Dr. Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard) the pathologist son of a senator ends up being seen as a disappointment in his father's eyes, but has a newfound confidence and plan to achieve greatness after he becomes infused with psychic powers after coming into contact with something from another world. The poster doesn't show Hammond with the vein-riddled, giant head we've seen in trailers, but it certainly is clear he's the villain. Let's hope the new series avoids the picture of unfulfilled women at law popularised in Hollywood films such as Jagged Edge
In a recent press release, the BBC promised that its new legal drama series Silk would present a true-to-life portrait of a female barrister applying for QC or "silk".
On the big screen female lawyers have not fared all that well in representing their real-life counterparts, despite similar promises from Hollywood. This was especially true in the 1980s and 1990s, when female stars were cast almost obsessively as lawyers: Glenn Close in Jagged Edge (1985), Cher in Suspect (1987), Jessica Lange in Music Box (1989), Barbara Hershey in Defenseless (1991) , Susan Sarandon in The Client (1994), and Julia Roberts as a law student in The Pelican Brief (1993), an assistant Us attorney in Conspiracy Theory (1997), and a legal assistant in Erin Brokovich (2000) – to name just a few.
