Several breakdancing techniques in "Mismatched Couples" were inspired by those in "Breakin'". Also, the scenes where the crowd are watching breakdancing at the pier, Eddie teaching Anna some breakdancing moves in her mansion as well as the breakdance showdown between Eddie and Kenny are reminiscent to the breakdancing scene at the beach, Ozone and Turbo teaching Kelly on how to breakdance, and the final breakdance scenes between the two crews respectively.
