Caruso is shown performing in the chorus of Verdi's Aida and in Puccini's Tosca, in the supporting role of Spoletta. Caruso never sang in a chorus or a supporting role in his entire career, and was actually considered for the leading role of Cavaradossi in the opera's premiere by Puccini himself.
Opening credits: The events, characters and firms depicted in this photoplay are fictitious. Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, or to actual firms is purely coincidental. Says it ALL.
At the opening of the movie there is a scene of Naples. However, the scene is backwards. Geographically, Mt Vesuvius is east of Naples, which would put the the Gulf of Naples to the right (south), if Naples is in the foreground. However, in the photo the Gulf of Naples is to the left, which would be north.
