Inplausibility abounds as a gangster's moll, Marian Smith (Margaret Livingston), is serving an eight-year sentence for a crime she did not commit. She meets, when she falls ill, and falls in love with Dr. Bradford (Lloyd Hughes), a convict in the men's part of the prison also serving time for as crime he did not convict. It turns out that both crimes were committed by her gangster lover, Frank Egan, a soft sentimental type (he has a weakness for Irving Berlin's "What'll I Do" ) as long as others serve time for crimes he committed. Once he realizes, after she is released from prison, he has lost the affections of the rightfully-so unforgiving Marian, he absolves the two lovers of his crimes.
