I love the show but ...

I am a huge fan of the show , I just feel like they held back a lot. I would of preferred it to be more gory... they just held back on so many great opportunities.

I love the sense of adventure and danger. I hope there is more episodes to come though, perhaps they can redeem their self if they get another season. It was good enough for.

    Just boring.

A continent called Magmell suddenly emerged from the sea and changed the world. A new age of adventure-filled exploration begins: explorers and explorers from all over flock to the island in search of unknown life forms and resources, encountering one disaster after another along the way. A mysterious group of young men earn their living on this continent as supporters for the researchers and experience one or the other adventure in the process... "Ultramarine Magmell" has the problem, which other comments here also address: It could have been something, but unfortunately it wasn't.

The individual stories are mostly boring, the characters are flat and since the animations aren't good either, there isn't even anything for the eye.

    Decent show

It's a good show with very soothing story, but why it's age rating is 16+ in Netflix? This show doesn't have any explicit scenes and story is so childish, it should be rated 7+ at max. I don't know at what basis they age rate this show, but if you show this show to teenager or adult, he is bound to give low rating, cause story is just not meant for yhem.

    Could have been much better

I'll start with the things I enjoyed. I liked the animation. The environment created was something not often done and that was refreshing, also the ability to create something from nothing reminded me of FMA which was nice. Soooo now the things that I believe let this anime down. Story....or lack off. Personally not a big fan of episodic stories and prefer something that is actually going somewhere. Yes there were flashbacks and plenty of them (ugh) but they were often just conveying the relationship between the characters, with a small amount explaining certain circumstances of how they got to where they are. There was also an issue with pauses, something new to me and hope I don't experience it again. Couple of characters would be having a conversation and then when one asks a question there's this sudden long pause. It's like someone paused the show and god is it irritating, that being said much of the dialogue I found was drivel. Also there doesn't seem to be much on character development. You get the many flashbacks of how they came to where they are but going forward or some sort of goal just seems to be lacking. Heck I'm pretty sure there wasn't an objective unless I missed it.

So yeah, the premise get a pass but the lack of story and actual character development kill it, which is a shame because it looked promising.

Overall I would recommend it to people I hate.

P.S. Now that I think about it, this anime kinda felt like watching fillers...

Long story short, i would recommend to watch it. Unfortunately the story is not very consistent and there are some episode which are boring. The first episode of this anime is great. Some humor, some action and a lot of creepy stuff with twists... Later some episodes miss some of this elements. The animations are quite nice and In my option its one of Netflix better animes releases recently.
