Patrick John Flueger is the only actor from the original series to also appear in the reboot.
The series is an adaption of The 4400 (2004). The difference being the original version was set against the backdrop of the "War on Terror" and the establishment of the Department of Homeland Security, which was stood-up to counter the threat from without, especially violent factionalism. The contemporary version, also grapples with terrorism overlaid with issues of identity, belonging, and civil liberties.
