It was very exciting, every minute. However, way over the top, too much unrealistic action. Performance of the actors was amazing though

Not that I won't keep watching the thing to the very end, but . . .
It starts off as an interesting crime/drugs/thriller/gangsters streamer, BUT, and this is a big BUT - before long it devolves into a totally ridiculous melodrama. By Season 3 you won't believe how many times you hear characters say "I'm sorry" and then screw everything up. No one doesn't screw up or get screwed up.
Grandma has a remarkable hairdo style. Baldy "Berry," - top thug. "Luther"? - Mystery dude with a real "servant with a crush" complex.
Ultimately, it's like a Laurel & Hardy epic - "Well, this is another fine mess you've gotten me into!"
Serious killings and intrigue, but in the back of your mind you'll be chuckling.

Not bad but both storyline and some of the actions/situations are not very realistic. One long last episode. Glad they didn't make this into a final series.
Only go watch if you've seen and liked the series and want to add the 'final chapter'.
I have more than once been disappointed by a film that is supposed to be some kind of summary or closure of a successful series. I enjoyed Penoza a lot as it was broadcast as a series. Nice actors, nice plot and everything within the limits of what one is prepared to accept as "for real". Not so this movie. Although the actors are the same, and still good, the story goes lightyears beyond what would be a scenario in in Holland in even a gangsters wildess dreams. Even in countries with a higher rate of criminal activity than The Netherlands the depicted events are totally unrealistic and over the top. A pity, it spoils the movie which deserves a better story line.
Series was very entertaining but the movie, with an unrealistic plot, should not have been made,
I have no idea why there are any bad reviews here. I loved the movie from beginning till end. Please just check out this movie. So sad the Penoza chapter is over now.
Bad acting (apart from Monique Hendrickx), bad recording locations (it's clearly Spain, not Mexico). Dutch actors playing non-Dutch characters. Story quickly made up to make some extra cinema revenues. Whole plot lacks credibility. Left a bitter taste after enjoying the tv-series for a couple of years.
Great movie! I do not get the bad reviews here. Only thing I can say is that it was a very violent film.
No addition to the series. Should've let the end be the end. Storyline lacks credibility. Acting is not up tot par with the first couplet of seasons of the series.
Waste of time and money seeing it in the cinema

I liked the series, but this movie was bad. The writing sucks. It was so unrealistic. It could have been so much better. Only Carmen played her part well.

If you don't follow the series and watch every episode than you don't give the movie the credits that it deserves.
I liked the first series of Penoza. It was pretty succesful so they desided to do series 2-5. Which went from good to very mediocre. And then came this movie... What were they thinking? This is completely over the top nonsense. I do not recommend it.

This is actually the last act of a rather extensive drama of Mexican family drug cartels involved in endless vendetta operations, having great difficulties in killing each other. If you haven't seen the previous acts, you will be rather overwhelmed and confused by the goings-on here, as you only see the end of the stories without the stories. Nevertheless, even without its four preceding acts, the last act is fascinating and engaging enough, especially because of the main character, the black widow herself, who performs a marvellous act of sustained and well controlled fury, grief, despair, anxiety, love and passion, with even an overwhelming tenderness and concern for her family. In the beginning you find her in an obscure cafeteria in a dark corner of Canada in winter at an odd job as an anonymous employee, but her past catches up with her, and in a brawl she is exposed by news sensationalists as the 'black widow' who everyone thought dead years ago. She is brought to trial in Holland, this is a Dutch film, but you will probably see it dubbed into any other language. It was a great box office success, and it is thrilling and fascinating indeed, like a very late noir of astronomical proportions - when all is settled and all vendettas seem to be done with, there will still be one more casualty too much.
Jezus christ, what did I just watch. Poorly written, bad acting, cheap action. Don't know where to start. Why in the world was this released after such a great series. What a shame. The person who wrote this film should immediatly find another job. The over-the-top action, the extremely bad dialogue, the unrealistic behaviour of charachters. Unbelievable.
I couldn't watch it for more than 30 minutes. Utter trash, weird gimmicky editing, cringe acting. Unwatchable, even for Dutch standards. Waste of what had to be a pretty decent budget.
Loved the series but this movie felt like a bit of a bummer. Farfetched and unnecessary. Acting was reasonable but storyline (if any) sucked.
Would have been better for anyone if this had not been made...

Although the series was just great. The movie felt like a try to be even greater.... It didn't. The start was good, but the story line sucked big time and the acting was poorly. The movie got worse and worse because of the unrealistic events. I lost my belief in the original succes of the series. Van Zon.. Are you kidding me!! In summary it was over the top and a waste of energy.. Unfortunately the team didn't pit any effort in presenting a good storyline. It was simpel and way to easy. The characters chooses were making the characters seem stupid.
