After the phenomenon that is "Yellowjackets," this show is suggested for Juliette Lewis fans out there. "Sacred Lies season 2" is a high-quality sleeper that barely received any notice when it first came out at the cusp of the pandemic in 2020. Starting the first episode of season 2, I did not know what I was getting into. All I thought was that as long as I saw some Juliette Lewis scenes, I'd be good. But what a surprise that this is actually a well-crafted show. It hooks you in as you begin to care about the characters and wonder what happens next. Juliette Lewis is phenomenal in the lead, proving that she is truly a versatile actress who has lasted for more than 3 decades so far, not just some cute girl with the "it" factor in the 90s. My only qualm is that a few parts do seem a bit contrived, but given that it tells you up front that it is "based on a fairytale," you're a little willing to let all that slide.
A very underrated series with a better everything in its first season (8-9 episodes could have been tighter) and a hugely melodramatic, though touching second one (around 6-7 episodes would have told the story in a more marvelous way without endless song loops and chases). Nevertheless, at around 30 minutes per episode, the show has one of the best acting (main and supporting cast), flow, vibe, editing and ending for each one and out there, in the world of TV productions, notwithstanding the seasons.
I repeat, that's a very underrated series, deserves way more watching and as it's an anthology series, it definitely deserves at least potential seasons 3 and 4. Highly recommended.
From all the actors and actresses, Elena Kampouris just shone in it.

The first season covers a lot of critical topics. It is very relevant for today's societal issues. Definitely worth watching!! I'm starting season two now, can't wait...
This entire series takes place in Montana, but every scene is in the summer? I know for a fact MT gets snow from September- sometimes June!
(i would have given the show a 10 if it wasnt for the fact that it had a 2nd season that has nothing to do with s1, which i wont watch.)
anyone who wants a short rev: its about cults and how they affect ppl, its about abuse and life in prison for underaged girls. The pace is great and the season has no loose ends imo.
The writing and character.. revelation more than development is outstanding imo. I have watched tons of documentaries about cults, racism and the psychology behind it as well as prison-life and the principles of justice and questionable effectiveness of crimepunishment around the world...
this show taps into all those issues without straight answers. I am relly not able to sum it up.
It is a show about the psychology of human needs, of what feeling powerless means, of the search to the question everybody has: why?
I usually dont write reviews and am no native speaker, but: this show seems to be so underrated (or simply not known. I am an addict when it comes to shows with any element of suspense and this had a horrortag, so i couldnt believe i never heard of it till yesterday).
I only watched the first season and since a scientology member is playing a big role in season 2, thats all i will watch. But thats ok, it is a coplete series.
