Scottish thriller Guilt is back for the third and final chapter in the McCall Brothers trilogy. Neil Forsyth’s fiendishly plotted drama all began when Max and Jake – a ruthless lawyer who’d climbed his way out of his working class Leith upbringing to wealth and status, and his vinyl-loving record shop slacker sibling – were flung together when they tried to cover up an accidental hit-and-run. So began a complex and gripping story about money laundering, Edinburgh gangsters, betrayal, class, family and yes, guilt.
Series three finds Max and Jake forced back to Edinburgh where some old enemies await. They’re joined by Pi-turned legal advisor Kenny Burns, his police detective girlfriend Yvonne, criminal kingpin Maggie Lynch, dangerously unpredictable ex-con Teddy and more familiar faces from the first two series. Also appearing are a range of new characters, as follows:
Isaura Barbé-Brown as Yvonne Nixon

Is a giant creature trawling the waters near a British village, just waiting to attack anyone who happens to get lost in the fog? That’s the mythical — or is it? — query at the start of The Essex Serpent, Apple TV+’s period drama based on Sarah Perry’s novel of the same name.
The series stars Claire Danes (Homeland) as Cora Seaborne, a London wife and mother whose husband dies within the premiere’s first few moments. (The streaming service released two episodes Friday; this recap covers the first.) It soon becomes clear that Cora’s husband was abusive...

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a real and very British phenomenon; a perplexing mix of activities to challenge, empower and mildly endanger teenagers which concludes by setting them loose in the countryside with a map, a compass and a pat on the back. Get Duked! wisely focuses on the weirdness of the expedition portion and exploits its eccentricities to delightful effect.
The dreadful behaviour of a trio of toilet-detonating mates – Duncan, Dean and DJ Beatroot – finds them ‘volunteered’ for the DofE scheme as a final chance to straighten up. Baffled by both the welcome video and the very concept of orienteering the boys reluctantly hit the Highlands-bound minibus armed with all their survival essentials: sick beats, jelly sweets and box-fresh trainers.
Making the journey alongside them, easily overlooked but better prepared, is homeschooled DofE enthusiast Ian (Samuel Bottomley) and his laminated checklists. New teacher Mr Carlyle (Jonathan Aris) provides maps,...

The people of Gotham City may have a love-hate relationship with Batman, but audiences don’t. With Ben Affleck out as the Caped Crusader and Joaquin Phoenix in as the Joker, Epix is going the small-screen prequel route with “Pennyworth.” Jack Bannon stars as Alfred Pennyworth, the trusty butler played in the past by the likes of Michael Gough, Michael Caine, and Jeremy Irons. Avail yourself of a brief teaser and first-look photo below.
The series follows “Bruce Wayne’s legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), a former British Sas soldier in his 20s, who forms a security company and goes to work with a young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), who’s not yet Bruce’s father, in 1960s London” — which is to say that the Dark Knight himself probably won’t be appearing in the show unless it continues long enough to show him as a soon-to-be-traumatized kiddo.
