It's a breezy, light-hearted film although it manages to sneak in its message.
It's a joy watching Luis Tosar and Rodrigo Dela Serna do their thing as engaging thespians. But Joan Pera as Antonio steals the show. He delivers on his role as a lucky lottery winner who's burdened by it.
Don't expect a thrilling voyage, and you'll be entertained and, at the same time, visit vicariously interesting places.

Let us first remember how absolutely wonderful cruising was. Little did they know, that the Sovereign would be sold for scrap in Turkey two years later.
Anyway, there are some great musical numbers, and the camp antics of the con artists makes it very entertaining. A little over long, and the dubbed voice of the mark didn't help. Nice port scenes, the open bar in the guys suite was awesome, and the two sons in law were hilarious.
I am not typically a fan of comedies, but this one had me chuckling a bit here and there because of the ridiculous things these con artists would to do rob an old man. The movie has good heartwarming moments, but for the most part it was filled with comedy and extremely good acting. It is nice to be able to see Luis Tosar in something apart from his generally serious roles, definitely refreshing to see him in a comedic spotlight. Overall, this movie is not my favorite but it definitely goes in my top ten in regards to comedy!
Good the series of Spanish accents that can be heard during the movie, but the movie plot is kind of foolish, They did not take advantage of the landscapes and photography opportunities. the musical scenes are pointless, unnecessary and long, is evident that there was a need to include a hot girl despite her lack of singing skills.
Aboard a cruise; a group of scammers are trying to make their living on the unsuspecting travelers. The movie is basically the competition between then to catch a big fish; a lottery winner with 161M travelling with his family.
The movie combines a very healthy and classy humor (only one scene indulges with bathroom humor); a lot of smart ideas and unexpected twist. A great homage 1960s picaresque comedies.
Production values are very high for a Spanish production. Perfectly staged action scenes and musical numbers.
Aside from the language; it technically as good as any Hollywood production but with a far better and smart script and without Hollywood cliches. Both male protagonists are criminals; and the movie does not try to moralize them In fact the just perfect final joke at end; defines the moral ground of the story.
None of the above is surprising considering Daniel Monzon curriculum. A director capable of doing excellent thrillers and also comedies.
The only small criticism to YUCATAN; is that some trimming could had benefit it. Cutting some overacting from Rodrigo de la Serna and perhaps shorter some unnecessary musical numbers or dramatic situations.
In brief; as comedies went in 2018; this is by far the best and classiest
