Right Here Right Now

Simon Berry plays the 'producer' of 'Right Here Right Now', which is a no-hoper left-wing monthly podcast featuring a live discussion during which somebody usually walks out. Built around several running character gags, it's surprisingly and consistently good.

It's done on a micro budget which means some of the editing is not tight and the sound recording (and lighting) is very inconsistent (at least in the earlier episodes), but that said, it's acted and directed to a high standard - and some of the incidental poetry/rap and musical performances are very, very good.

It's got that (UK) 'Office' vibe, but what kept me glued was Simon Berry. Imagine Dustin Hoffman's 'Rain Man' with no talent other than to give a double thumbs up and grin in the face of impending disaster. He's hilarious, and a brilliant 'physical' actor - which isn't to say the rest of the cast aren't great, and he never upstages anyone - but it's a virtuoso performance.
