“Damn near immortal” is how Stephen King described The Twilight Zone in his 1981 study of creepy fiction Danse Macabre, and who could argue with that. Like any decent horror monster, Rod Serling’s 1960s anthology series keeps coming back from the grave. Only last week it was announced that CBS is planning to resurrect its award-winning show once again. The new series will be the latest of several revivals over the decades, including an upcoming stage production set to enjoy its world premiere at London’s Almeida Theatre this December.

Hulu and Annapurna Pictures are teaming up. The two companies have just announced a multi-year pact that will grant Hulu exclusive streaming rights to films released by Annapurna following their theatrical release, the streaming service’s largest licensing agreement to date. For our latest Q&A feature, we caught up with composer Cris Velasco to discuss his work on Resident Evil 7, Hulu's Freakish, and RocketJump's Dimension 404, as well as collaborating with Clive Barker on some of the great imaginer's projects.

Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Cris. Were you a fan of the horror genre growing up? Did the genre influence your music?

Cris Velasco: Oh yeah, absolutely. I used to watch Hellraiser 1 and 2 with a friend of mine almost every weekend. Chris Young's score became a significant influence on my own music early on.

You’ve worked on a wide range of video games over the years. How did you first get involved with that industry?

Cris Velasco: Hard work and tenacity are the keys. I spent about seven years trying to break into the industry after I graduated from UCLA. When...

On April 4th, Hulu shared the first three episodes of Dimension 404, an anthology created by the team at RocketJump, which includes showrunner Dez Dolly, writer Will Campos, and executive producer Freddie Wong. For its latest project, RocketJump took the combination of action, humor, and nerd cred that led its short films to YouTube fame and applied it to a longer format. Each of Dimension 404’s hour-long episodes is a self-contained story that takes elements of modern pop and tech culture and examines them through a comedic sci-fi lens. It’s Black Mirror, but born from the Internet and given a campier tone.

Early reviews indicate that RocketJump has successfully pulled off the genre-hopping blend that makes up Dimension 404, but we wanted to get some insights about the series straight from its showrunner. Here’s our chat with Dolly about what his team has pulled off in their new Hulu program.

With so much of today’s politics surrounding the agency of women, there is no better time for “The Handmaid’s Tale” to emerge as a mirror to society — an outcry against legislation hindering women’s reproductive rights. In anticipation of Hulu’s release of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” Audible has released a special edition of the classic novel starring Claire Danes and featuring new original material written by the novel’s author Margaret Atwood.

Audible has released an exclusive clip of the production, with Claire Danes in the role of Offred, who will be played by Elisabeth Moss in the Hulu series.

The Margaret Atwood novel tells the story of a future dystopian society in which women have become property of a theocratic government of which they are force to breed for.

Hulu has thrown its own hat in the anthology-series-ring with its new sci-fi series ‘Dimension 404.” A mashup of sorts between the “Twilight Zone” and “Black Mirror” — with a dash of snark — “Dimension 404” looks to deliver a fun, sci-fi experience and it’s even narrated by Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill.

Of course, every good onscreen sci-fi story needs a good score to set the tone, and “Dimension 404” has just that thanks to composer Cris Velasco.

“A good friend of mine, Alex Ferrari, has a company called Numb Robot that happened to be doing the color correction on this series. Alex is also a director, and I’ve scored three of his films. He mentioned my name to the producer of “D404″ and said they should look me up if they were still looking for a composer,” he told IndieWire of his initial involvement with the series.

12 days ago, we got our first look at Dimension 404, the upcoming sci-fi anthology series created by the team at RocketJump. Now, the full trailer for that show has arrived, and it gives viewers a closer look at the brand of trippy science fiction they can except from the six episodes that (fittingly) will arrive on Hulu on 4/04.

Across its dozens of productions, RocketJump has wowed audiences with a combination of action-packed storylines, dazzling visual effects, and quick wit that fits the absurdist situations on display. In Dimension 404, Freddie Wong’s studio, which here is led by showrunner Dez Dolly, looks as if it will once again put that combination on display. It seems that anthology series are making something of a comeback recently, with FX running multiple season long anthologies from “Fargo” to “American Crime Story” to “Feud” and beyond. Hulu’s new show, however, seems to be following Netflix’s “Black Mirror” (with a dash of “Stranger Things“) with their own sci-fi fantasy anthology series “Dimension 404.” Telling different stories about futuristic technological advances, each episode is a self contained story with Mark Hamill bridging the episodes by serving as the series narrator.

Inspired by the Internet’s “404” error code, the six-episode series tries to evoke that feeling online users get when they stumble upon weird stories while surfing the Internet in the wee hours of the morning.

“Dimension 404, for those not in the know, is a fun science fiction anthology show, which means you’re gonna get a brand new crazy story every week, featuring an exciting new cast,” says Dolly as he introduces the trailer.

Amazon Studios has released the trailer for its upcoming documentary series “American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story.” The 10-episode docuseries makes use of more than 17,000 hours of footage and over 2,600 scrapbooks from Hefner’s personal archives, documenting his life, the history behind the empire he created and his impact on global culture.

The hybrid docuseries includes cinematic re-enactments of events that took place in the life of Playboy’s founder. New Zealand actor Matt Whelan (“Go Girls,” “3 Mile Limit”) plays a young Hefner in the series directed by Emmy-nominated cinematographer Richard Lopez (“Roman Empire: Reign of Blood”). “I’m Hugh Hefner. You might think you know all about me — the magazine, the mansions, the parties, the women — but you don’t know the half of it,” says a voiceover at the beginning of the trailer.

On April 4th, RocketJump will premiere a new show, and this one looks like it’s going to get weird. The digital studio co-founded by Freddie Wong has launched a short teaser for Dimension 404, an anthology series coming soon to Hulu.

Each of Dimension 404’s six hour-long episodes will tell a self-contained story, with the Internet serving as a consistent plot device throughout the series. The general understanding is that Dimension 404 will be a Twilight Zone for the digital age, a la Black Mirror. A press release says the show “aims to evoke that 3 a.m. feeling of wandering onto the weird side of the web, stumbling upon stories that cannot be explained in the world that we know.”

A big selling point of Dimension 404 will be its talented cast, which will include Lea Michele, Joel McHale, Megan Mullally, and Patton Oswalt. Mark Hamill will serve as the show’s narrator.

“The Secret Scripture” had its world premiere at the 2016 Toronto Film Festival. Now, the film adaptation of Sebastian Barry’s 2008 bestselling novel of the same name is ready for its big screen release this May. The film comes from beloved Irish director Jim Sheridan, who has six Oscar nominations to his name, for films like “My Left Foot” (1989), “In The Name Of The Father” (1993) and “In America” (2002).

The film follows the story of Roseanne McNulty (Vanessa Redgrave), an elderly woman who has spent 50 years in a mental institution in Ireland. The film takes viewers into Roseanne’s past. As a young woman (played by Rooney Mara), Roseanne was involved in a love triangle between a fighter pilot (Jack Reynor) and a priest (Theo James) that had devastating consequences for all three of them.

In July of 2009, 3 American civilians were hiking along a path in Iraq when they were lured over the border by Iranian militants, consequently leading to their imprisonment. The Iranian government accused these 3 hikers of espionage and placed them in the notorious Evin Prison, holding them hostage for 2+ years.

“The Three Hikers” marks the directorial debut of Natalie Avital (who previously produced “Past God” and “State of Control”), and premiered at the AFI Docs Film Festival in Washington DC.

A movie starring two YouTubers will make its money back in iTunes sales, regardless of its quality. That may sound like a good thing, but it’s not if you’re an online content creator looking to transition into traditional Hollywood projects and shake your reputation as a one-trick pony. Speaking from the sixth VidCon, the annual convention for digital content creators and their fans, creator Jimmy Wong is uncertain about his and others’ crossover prospects.

“It’s really hard to transition YouTube stars into traditional acting roles,” says Wong, who rose to YouTube fame with his viral hit “Ching Chong! Asians in the Library Song” — a timely response to an ugly, racist video rant.

The former Glee star and Robert Buckley have split after a few months of dating, People has learned.

The pair recently were spending a lot of time together while on the set of their latest show Dimension 404, where they just so happen to play love interests in the Hulu sci-fi fantasy series.

A source tells People that the split was mutual and the pair are still friends.

Lea Michele and Robert Buckley have already called time on their short-lived romance. Us Weekly reveals that the two stars, who first began dating in May, reportedly split because they realized they were "better off as friends" and because of their busy schedules. Lea and Robert, who still managed to post a few sweet glimpses into their romance on Instagram, won't be apart for long, though. They are currently filming Dimension 404, an upcoming science-fiction drama set to air on Hulu. The two are just the latest celebrity couple to call it quits so far this year.

Kingdom‘s Matt Lauria is the latest TV vet to enter a strange new Dimension.

The actor has booked a guest appearance on Hulu’s Twilight Zone-esque anthology series Dimension 404, TVLine has learned.

Inspired by the Internet’s notorious “404” error code, the mystery thriller — which is comprised of six, self-contained, hour-long episodes (each boasting a twist ending!) — aims to “evoke that 3 a.m. feeling of wandering onto the weird side of the web, stumbling upon stories that cannot be explained in the world that we know.

More are headed to another dimension. Entertainment Weekly reports Megan Mullally and Constance Wu have joined the cast of Hulu's new series Dimension 404.

The 29-year-old Glee alum and Scream Queens actress and the 35-year-old iZombie star, who appear together in the new Hulu sci fi series Dimension 404, have been dating for at least a month. Modern Family's Sarah Hyland and the cancelled Community's Joel McHale have been cast in the Dimension 404 TV show at Hulu. A sci-fi anthology series, Dimension 404's title is inspired by the "404" or "not found" internet error code and is meant to evoke that weird feeling you get when stumbling upon strange bits of the web at 3:00am.

McHale and Hyland join Glee's Lea Michele and iZombie's Robert Buckley, who were previously cast, as was Ryan Lee. Showrunner Dez Dolly and Will Campos created Dimension 404 with o-Creators Dan Johnson and David Welch. Freddie Wong executive produces and directs with Matthew Arnold and Dolly.

Hulu’s sci-fi anthology series “Dimension 404” has just added two new cast members, Joel McHale and Sarah Hyland.

McHale is jumping on board and will appear in one episode as Mr. Maker, a charismatic, eccentric, yet slightly patronizing founder of a matchmaking company that offers single adults a seemingly perfect solution to finding love. The “Modern Family” star will also be seen in another stand-alone episode as Chloe, an unassumingly cute, high school student who is just discovering that boys are into her. She pushes her uncle/best pal, Dusty, to take her to a screening of a new sci-fi action film in a fresh, never-before-seen cinematic format – “Cinethrax” – which gives the audience a strange, perilous movie-going experience.

After the news was announced, the “Community” actor joked with Hyland on Twitter, calling dibs on the front trailer.

Lea Michelle and Robert Buckley also form part of the ensemble as a couple brought together by McHale’s matchmaking service. Ryan Lee will be Andrew in another one-hour episode, in which he plays a secretly gay teenage introvert and video game addict. Andrew is viciously bullied by classmates and only finds comfort and courage at Ernie’s Arcade where he discovers a mysterious, never-played arcade game called Polybius, and investigates its dark and bloody provenance.

The series is inspired by the Internet’s “404” error code and hopes to evoke that 3am feeling of wandering onto the weird side of the web, stumbling upon stories that cannot be explained in the world that we know.
