The seventh and final installment of the late George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead franchise is currently in the works, and we've just learned of some new cast additions to this upcoming zombie film.

The movie is titled Twilight of the Dead, and talented actresses Milla Jovovich and Betty Gabriel have been revealed to have joined the cast. Jovovich is best known for starring in the leading role of Alice in the action-horror film franchise Resident Evil. Her most recent role was playing Tess in the sci-fi thriller Breathe. Some of her next projects other than Twilight of the Dead are the upcoming movies In the Lost Lands, Midnight and World Breaker.

Gabriel, on the other hand, is known for portraying Georgina in the smash-hit psychological horror film Get Out. She also starred in many other horror films, such as The Purge: Election Year, Unfriended: Dark Web and It Lives Inside.

Described as a heart pounding thriller set in the future, Jennifer Hudson and Milla Jovovich lead the cast of Breathe, and the official trailer has debuted this week.

Breathe comes to theaters and Digital on April 26, 2024.

CBS has found its young Leroy Jethro Gibbs. Austin Stowell will play the iconic character in the upcoming NCIS prequel series NCIS: Origins.

NCIS: Origins will follow Gibbs during his early days as an NCIS agent. The show, which received a straight-to-series order earlier this year, will premiere during the 2024-25 broadcast season.

Stowell’s previous TV credits include A Friend of the Family, The Hating Game, and Breathe. He also starred in Hulu’s limited series Catch 22, the Steven Spielberg anthology series Amazing Stories, and Public Morals. His feature film credits include Battle of the Sexes, Bridge of Spies, This Tempting Madness, 12 Strong, and Whiplash. Stowell also appeared in an episode of NCIS: Los Angeles.

Mark Harmon starred as Gibbs on NCIS for 19 seasons.

First announced in early January, CBS has given a series order for “NCIS: Origins,” which takes place in 1991, years before the events of “NCIS” and follows a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs (narrated by Mark Harmon) through his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling NCIS Camp Pendleton office, where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks. Playing a young Gibbs will be Austin Stowell, the network announced today.

Taiwan director and screenwriter Hsu Chao-jen is pitching “Mr. Tiger” at the 2023 Taiwan Creative Content Fest (Tccf), which launches in Taipei on Tuesday.

The film “Mr. Tiger” will be an adaptation from one of the United Daily News Prize winning story “Grandfather Tiger,” originally penned by Taiwan novelist Wu Ming-yi.

The story will be filmed in Taiwan. It revolves around A-Niu, a young man from Southeast Asia who is the son of a circus owner. He strives to find a home for an escaped tiger in the city. As Taiwan is lifting martial law, A-Niu realizes he and the tiger share a common destiny shaped by their social circumstances, ultimately leading to his transformation of a “tiger” himself.

“Through black humor and flashbacks, I want to take the audience through a trip into Taiwan’s past,” says Hsu. “In the story, A-Niu finds his identity in street protests as Taiwan opens up to democracy.

The actor left from Mumbai on his bike on Friday at 8:00 am. The bike journey promises to redefine the meaning of adventure, culture, and personal transformation for the actor.

The singer/actress/talk show was recently asked by paparazzi about whether or not she’d like to address speculation that she and Common are a couple, in video obtained by TMZ.

Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin, and Kamasi Washington have joined together once again as the jazz/hip-hop collective Dinner Party to unveil their second album, Enigmatic Society. The full-length follow-up to their 2020 self-titled debut with 9th Wonder, and its subsequent, Grammy-nominated reimagining Dessert, is out today, April 14th.

The nine-track LP boasts contributions from Ant Clemons and Tank (of Tank and the Bangas) as well as vocalists Phoelix and Arin Ray on three songs apiece. The latter three artists are returning collaborators from the group’s previous oeuvre, while Clemons made his Dinner Party debut on the Sounwave-produced single “Insane” in March. Five years after it first hit SoundCloud, Shamir’s album Hope has been reissued on vinyl for a deluxe version via Kill Rock Stars, featuring the never-before-heard songs “Breathe” and “Camouflage.”

Hope was the follow-up to Shamir’s debut album, 2015’s Ratchet, and came about in a miraculous way. Stunned by the attention and acclaim Ratchet garnered, but taken aback by the pressures of fame and the process of commodification, Shamir almost quit music entirely. But a single weekend recording session brought him back from the edge, and resulted in the creation of Hope.

“Hope came at a time in my life when I was desperately searching for it,” Shamir explained in a statement. “I found myself not wanting to do music anymore after a rough introduction into the music industry. I didn’t feel seen or heard as the artist I was, or at least wanted to be, and...

As it stands to welcome nearly 250 participants – roughly half divided between market participants and heavyweight decision makers – this year’s fully in-person event should do little to reverse that trend.

“We’re very international,” says Xr market head Ellen Kuo. “With more than half of our participants coming from outside Europe, and with several coming from the U.K., Italy, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and Poland, I call [our network] Paris beyond Paris.”

Driving this year’s robust turnout are the Xr Development Market for projects at earlier phases and the Xr Art Fair for those winding down a festival run and looking for distribution – though, as it accounts for 70% of NewImages’ market activity, the development expo is clearly the bigger draw.

The jokes will extend well past April 1st on HBO and HBO Max.

With its list of new releases for April 2023, HBO Max is premiering the final episodes of two major shows.

First up is the continuation of Titans season 4 on April 13. Returning after a four month hiatus, these next six episodes will be the last go around for HBO Max’s gritty live-action DC series. Arriving three days later on HBO proper is the fourth and final season of Barry. Bill Hader and the rest of the Barry team wrote themselves into a fascinating corner with the conclusion of season 3. And judging by the first teasers for season 4, this final batch of episodes will indeed catch up with our favorite actor/hitman in prison.

Other TV shows of note this month include the Pete Davidson-starring animated series Fired on Mars on April 20 (light ’em up) the the Elizabeth Olsen-starring true crime story Love & Death on April 27.

Bill Hader returns for one final season of Barry and the popular sketch comedy A Black Lady Sketch Show kicks off its fourth season on HBO Max in April 2023. Additional highlights of the streaming service’s April lineup include the debut of Love & Death, a limited series starring Elizabeth Olsen and Patrick Fugit; season two of Somebody Somewhere with Bridget Everett; and the return of 100 Foot Wave for a second season.

In addition, the Titans mid-season premiere arrives on April 13. HBO Max offers this description of the fourth and final season’s remaining episodes: “The Titans – with the exception of Gar – are returned to the Temple of Trigon and rush to find Sebastian and Mother Mayhem before Sebastian summons Trigon. Along the way, they come across a prophecy that may require Kory to make a huge sacrifice to save the world.

In the final season of HBO Max’s “Barry,” premiering on April 16, Barry’s arrest for the murder of Cousineau’s girlfriend leads to a shocking conclusion. Barry (Bill Hader), a hitman who stumbles into acting, explores the dark, often comedic underbelly of both LA gangsters and Hollywood.
