This movie was pretty damned fun to watch, they established all the different crazy factions out there and it weirdly enough fits together.
I dunno if i'm biased but to me this movie was a good time. Don't overthink it, just enjoy the damned ride.
7/10
The acting is good but the characters are a bit silly in many ways as the story progresses.
So if you can't think of anything to watch this isn't a bad choice provided you don't have many expectations for a film that is trying to cash in on the current tend for post-apocalyptic stuff.
What I would like to know is how they still have mains electricity.
In a post apocalyptic world the remaining survivors have fallen under one of two categories. The Domestics, people who want to live like they did before everything went to hell and the gangs who want to live the way they want to at the cost of those around them.
Personally I liked this idea, the different gangs each with their own gimmicks and appearances appealed to me. But sadly the movie doesn't live up to the potential of the premise.
Starring Kate Bosworth it's a stylish looking interesting movie that structurally is all over the place. Beginning/middle/end? Not here, this bounces from scene to scene almost at random feeling more like a series of skits than a movie.
Sure it has some great moments, but mashed altogether to make a film I was left confused as to why they'd do that.
The Domestics is a cluster of great ideas ruined by incompetence and foolish writing decisions.
The Good:
I like the idea
Looks the part
Interesting soundtrack
The Bad:
Some of the worse structuring I've seen from a movie in years
Misses the mark on several levels

Crazy Al: [spoilers]
[Last line spoken in the movie over the end credits]
Crazy Al: [speaking on his radio broadcast] "Here's another safety update for all you domestics out there. Just when you thought you've heard it all, something like this comes along. Rumor has it, there's a husband and wife that just took out a platoon of Gamblers in Milwaukee, and they're heading west. Let this be a warning to all you gang banging sons of bitches, these two lovebirds ain't fucking around. You see, this is why I still have hope. Because amongst all the savagery, there are still the ones who love, and it's the ones who love that will change the motherfucking world."
