Cheap

The story was a scrambled mess of stereotypes. We have a wealthy benefactor to a museum; a detective who just accidentally shows up while being chased; a museum curator who believes in Yetis; a Himalayan family. All go on a hunt in the Himalayas for the Yeti, and all turn out to be not-believable cartoonish characters. Add really poor animation quality - flat washed out 2-D backgrounds, and central characters that look like plastic animated toys. Oh, dialogue was grade school level dumb e.g. they kept saying, "Are we there yet!".

Nice art style but devoid of charm

Entirely forgettable. Perhaps the English translation loses something but the dialogue is unconvincing and robs the characters, with the possible exception of Tensing, of any likeability. The 3d animation is quite nicely done and the backdrops have a coherent watercolour style but cheap tricks like a lack of interaction between objects and snow make it all look a bit like a thrown together TV show at times. And asking why your captain is sailing south having just crossed the Atlantic from Canada to the eastern med is just one example of several weird moments that throw you out of the story.

Waste of time unfortunately

Pretty nicely animated, but further in the movie lacking any thrill or sense whatsoever, one of the worst animations ive ever seen, which is quite sad to know that there actually can be one.

A very good movie <3

This movie has some nice animation,amazing design,lovely texture,but the ending scene was quite boring,I mean it's alright like....overrated and forgotten.

I think it deserves the sequel,I think Simon got crush on Nelly,but...I kept thinking about the movie and my Nelly and Simon sequel about Simon getting fired,and went home and checks the newspaper abiyt krakwn found on toyko,and then Simon and Nelly went on toyko and find the scary big purplish kraken like from Office Jerk the game from the google play,they meet an japanese assassin,Yui,they need to stop the evil scientist Hanzo Tachibana.

It's -well- different

Let's get it out - it's not MCU, DC, PIXAR or any other Attention deficit disorder production, filled with shaky cam, jump cuts, explosions, P. C. or Woke characters, desperately trying to mimic the last blockbuster that attracted the attention of the muggles.

So if you don't like this - congrats - you're one of those muggles for whom Wholly Weird, et al, make ugly radio.

I'm reminded of the snark, "It's French, don't try to explain it..." No bombastic eye tearing state of the art CGI - just a story. A story with a humble moral : don't jump to conclusions before you get to the end of the story.

It's not "Fantastic Planet" - but it has its own internal logic. I rather enjoyed it, and that's all one can expect - entertainment.
