The Gabbie Show is hitting the big time. That channel's leading lady, Gabbie Hanna, has signed with talent agency CAA for representation in all areas.
Hanna rose to digital prominence due in large part to her presence on Vine, but now that Twitter's six-second video platform is no more, she has devoted much of her creative energy tow YouTube, where The Gabbie Show -- which features vlogs, sketches, collaborations, and other assorted formats -- has more than 4.5 million subscribers. Her most popular video, in which she remakes her sister's Musical.ly clips, has received more than 20 million views to date.
Thanks to her popularity, Hanna has unlocked a number of offline projects. She served as one of the performers for Fullscreen's Drop The Mic event series, and she recently announced her first book, titled Adultolescence, which will become available in September. She has also picked up acting roles in several projects led by YouTube stars,...

With the September 23, 2017 debut of Dirty 30 and the September 26 premiere of Laid in America, Hollywood has presented us with two studio-backed low-budget films featuring many prominent social-media influencers. Traditional Hollywood has finally joined, to borrow influencer Michelle Glavan’s phrase, “the YouTube movie circuit.”
That means traditional studios are finally trying a newish model for making and marketing films that are the polar opposite of their usual blockbuster behemoths. The model emerged about three years ago, when indie producers and multichannel networks like AwesomenessTV tapped squadrons of influencers for roles in films such as Expelled and Camp Takota. This model has resulted in small films that typically are profitable, relatively low risk, and can connect with young audiences who otherwise ignore traditional studios.
Previously, the big media companies focused more on buying up multichannel networks (e.g. Maker Studios, Machinima, Collective Digital Studios) and tapping influencers to promote their products.

Two of the most popular YouTube stars in the world are two months away from splashing into the film world. On September 26th, the film Laid In America, which stars Caspar Lee and Olajide “Ksi” Olatunji, will premiere in the UK. It will make its stateside debut the following day.
Laid in America, which we first heard about more than a year ago, follows its two stars as they descend upon Yankee shores and get into all sorts of trouble. The film is being billed as a raunchy teen comedy, and its plot, which can be summed up as “two guys try to lose their virginity on the night before they leave the United States,” is reminiscent of the enduring 1999 film American Pie.
Like many of the other so-called “influencer films” that star digital media personalities in feature-length productions, Laid in America will feature a supporting cast filled with Lee and Ksi’s colleagues.

The trend of feature films led by YouTube stars is not strictly an American phenomenon. British YouTube star Olajide Olatunji, known online as Ksi, and South African vlogger Caspar Lee will star in Laid In America, an upcoming feature film whose cast is filled with YouTube stars.
As TheVideoInk, Laid In America began filming last month and promises exactly what it says in the title. Ksi and Lee will play a pair of friends who cross the pond in an attempt to score with Stateside women. The supporting cast is full of YouTube stars: Timothy DeLaGhetto, Josh Leyva, and Josh Golden will all make appearances.
Laid in America is helmed by a notable YouTube channel as well. Bad Weather Films, a sketch comedy hub, is directing the film and co-producing it alongside Max Gottlieb.
Ksi and Caspar are frequent collaborators who are also two of the biggest stars on YouTube.
