Originally known as Hollows Grove, Orphanage: The Haunting at Hollows Grove (that’s one hell of a mouthful) was unceremoniously dumped onto DVD in the UK at the end of October – just in time for Halloween. I say dumped as this is yet another case of an interesting found-footage film (how often do I say that?!) being released with a new supermarket-friendly title and artwork. Artwork, may I add, which makes absolutely no mention that writer/director Craig Efros’s film features cameos from Lance Henriksen and Mykelti Williamson – talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face!

Even the name “Hollows Grove” doesn’t sound like a pleasant place to visit.

In a found footage-style horror film, it follows a group of paranormal activity investigators into a haunted children’s hospital.

Here’s the full synopsis:

A young filmmaker, Harold Maxwell is filming a behind-the-scenes documentary about his friends - the Spirit and Paranormal Investigation Team, (S.P.I.T) and their ghost hunting reality show. Harold joins the S.P.I.T crew as they head out to their next assignment, to film an old, abandoned and supposedly haunted orphanage, Hollows Grove. Soon after arriving at the orphanage the team begins to realize that what they thought would be a routine investigation is turning in to a nightmare from which they can’t escape.

Hollows Grove is a found footage film about a reality TV film crew Even though the concept seems a little different mostly in a negative way its more or less the same plot as others in the mode where we see things from the prospective of a couple of freaked out cameramen. FBI Agent Jones is played by Mykelti Williamson an actor known for his cop roles in various blockbusters including Heat (1995). Casting Lance Henrikson as Bill was just moronic. Horror and SciFi fans will readily recognize him as the star of the 1990s apocalypse series Millennium.

Latino-Review was provided with two exclusive scene clips with mini-featurette interviews with the director and cast members for the upcoming horror comedy film “Hollows Grove.”

The movie mocks those reality TV shows played on multiple cable TV networks.

It's time to put a hold on this concept... A paranormal team set out for "one big job" or "a new episode of their show" only to encounter a real supernatural threat.

Word of another horror film using that as its foundation, called Hollows Grove, has floated our way. Will it be something different? Hollows Grove, from Mel and Craig Efros, is hitting VOD and iTunes on October 21st.
