Not funny at all, maybe not as bad as LOL: Nigeria but had very distasteful humor and it was overall boring. Thought it was a culture clash but no the reviews also show it was just lame.
They should hire all actual comedians for the show, maybe Trevor Noah wouldve been a better candidate than host. The influencers/actresses trend is getting away from the original LOL recipe and just makes the overall show worse.
Another dud. Also didn't like that it was also a little racist vs the one white guy that they included. I thought south africa wouldve been a more diverse cast, but that was not on display here.

Felt the humor was false, broken and cheap. I appreciate and love South African humor in general, but this was tough to watch.
The guests have such diverse backgrounds and individually perform well on stage, which is great. However, the "forced" humor through a one-sided "PC" lens left me feeling frustrated and irritated that the international platform provided.
The passive aggressive humor was only balanced by the inappropriate cheap shots.
Kept watching till the end with a hope that something worth while would save the day.
Unfortunately not. Wouldn't recommend taking time out of your day.

I've watched every series, from Ireland to South Africa, from Germany to Philippines. I don't think the South African one is as bad as many people are saying. It's certainly not near the top of the world series. But it's not as bad as some, such as the Philippines or especially Australia. LOL Australia was just stressful to watch. But LOL South Africa was tolerable. I couldn't get much of their humour, but I found it much funnier than LOL Australia, for example. They had some nice cast members, all of whom I never heard of before, except for Trevor Noah, the host, so it was nice to get to know their comedians. Most, I have to admit I didn't find too funny, but it was a joy to watch them hold in laughing. Trevor Noah was the best thing about this. Would watch another South African series again.
I was honestly excited to start this after watching the UK run. That one broke me within minutes of the first episode. Then it kept hitting!
I was hoping South Africa would produce something on the same level at some point.
Took a yellow from what I considered to be the funniest joke in the entire 6hr run.
Them trying to make each other laugh from acting like characters other than themselves in a social setting I found annoying.
However I believe this could have been hilarious with a more natural flow between the comedians.
I couldn't recognize one genuine conversation between them without some noticeable and annoying gimmick attached.
I wanted to see them as themselves.
The comedy should seem natural.
When Bob Mortimer made the chair creak I lost it. The look on his face and then Judi Love laughing floored me.
Rob Beckett dealings of getting tongued, nearly blacked me out it was so funny.
I was really expecting and wanting a moment like that here, but it's safe to say you would make it through as I did. Or maybe be floored from the jokes. It is subjective.

When you think your country is the best in the world and couldn't give a damn about other countries you become intolerant about the rest of the world. These jokes won't land especially if you are ignorant and intolerant about South Africa and it's actual culture and entertainment industry. Best show I've watched in a while. I saw a review saying LOL Nigeria wasn't funny, the actual question I ask is does the jokes being made not funny to you because you don't understand them because of cultural differences or you understand them culturally and you don't find them funny. I suspect intolerance at best.
