An independent film doesn't have to have the flash or all-star case of a big studio film. But it does have to be incredibly smart with a strong story to tell.
This film wastes the automatic production value of Louisiana. You just shoot and it looks awesome.
1. As the film opens, the film format looks cheap and at a narrow angle. OK, could still be smart and good.
2. The guy gets out of the car and goes to the trunk - this should be interesting. He gets a tiny box of cookies!? Who puts a single dozen cookies in the trunk? You'd put it in the seat next to you or behind you - not in an empty trunk to get thrown around. Now I know I'm in for a thoughtless overreaching film.
3. The opening actor is so bad with 5th grade facial expressions. when he takes off his shirt to wash away 3 drops of coffee. I was done.
Actually, I was done when he sees the "ghost" standing there - the actor barely able to contain his laugh.
Not worth the time. Waste of film. To the filmmakers: make a smarter movie where the details make sense. Ask: "Would the average person do this?"
