Long Lost Family

Overall, I love Long Lost Family. HOWEVER, I watched the UK version first and the US version is a bit of a let down. The UK version shows respect!!! If the parent has died, they tell the child AWAY from the cameras. The US version chooses to show the despair with the cameras fixated on the poor child's face. They also say "We've found your Mother!!" The child says excitedly, "REALLY?!!!" Yeah but, she's dead!!! Poor form. Another episode shows a brother/sister meeting for the first time and the hosts interrupt them to say "We've found your father" to the son. This poor half-sister was not related and she just has to sit there. All the show had to do was show respect to these poor people who have searched for their family for DECADES. Maybe I'm biased because the UK version does it perfectly but, the UK version was made first and the US version CHOSE to take this path.

I have been hooked on the show since the very beginning! The compassion that is shown on the show is like no other! I so enjoy seeing the families reunited and can feel the emotion of each member the whole time. Chris and Lisa are amazing! Just a word of advice! Never try to watch this show while putting on makeup LOL! I always cry it off before I can even get it put on! LOL

I'm in love with the show! Can't wait for the next season!!

This is a great show which borrows the format from the UK version. Both presenters Chris & Lisa are so compassionate and sensitive and personally affected in their journeys to re-unite loved ones , no matter how difficult. I've not seen one show when tears of hope & joy aren't coming from me , let alone those whose lives are affected ! Great and incredibly moving series.

This is one of the most important shows on tv, ever! They need to have a few spin-off shows, so that it can be on the air all year; like, Long Lost Family: Reunions; Long List Family: Follow Ups; Long Lost Family: Extended Family.
