Shane's characters in his own films, always have a naming pattern. The first name is always based on a Brad Pitt character, then his last name always begins with "Mc" and references another film or plot device.
For "Consternate": Tyler (for Tyler Durden in "Fight Club") and McKenzie (for the line in "Halloween" that says, "Go down to the McKenzie's house...").
For "Escape": Rusty (for Rusty Ryan in "Ocean's 11") and McNeil (for the character Holden McNeil from "Chasing Amy").
And in "Reunion": Jeffery (for Jeffery Goines in "12 Monkeys") and McGuffin (for an object, device, or event that is necessary to the plot and the motivation of the characters).
