Scott has worked as a firefighter, paramedic, reserve sheriff's deputy, school bus driver, and substitute teacher. He has served on several boards of directors and has owned multiple businesses throughout his career.
He is married to Shelly Cassin and they have three adult children between them. They also have eight cats, all named after characters in the Harry Potter series (Dobby, Severus, Luna, Lily, Harry, Penelope, Rufus, and Felix).
