Martin grew up in Sidcup Kent, and has remained in the area.He attended Colfe's Grammar School where he obtained 10 O levels and 2 A levels.
He appeared in several productions whilst at school which augmented his experience with a local Amdram company.
He left school at 18 and went to work for the GLC. however his intention to become a police officer was realised in 1981 where he remained for 30years. During his time in the police he was lucky enough to travel to Australia for 3 weeks on a multi million theft investigation for which he received many commendations. His last role was as an armed covert surveillance officer and assisted in many hi profile crimes.
His career has given him many experiences to draw upon in his acting career.
He has been on stage since the age of 14. and played diverse roles such as played Jesus in Godspell, Roger de Bris in The Producers and numerous pantomime characters including the Dame. He recently wrote and directed his own pantomime Calamity Dame.
He is now involved in TV and film work and can be seen in many TV, film productions and commercials, the biggest playing Terry the Home Secretary's ( Keeley Hawes) driver in several episodes of The award winning BBC series Bodyguard .
He is always looking for more work and that lucky break!
